Excellent course, value for money!
Played in atrocious weather, in storm Hannah! However, only course in the local area that I tried wlhere they welcomed us and gave us a good deal. Course was mint. We were pretty the only ones out there in the afternoon but there been a few out before, fair play! I recommend this course for its friendliness and value for money.
Let down by website and course
So I booked an 11:06 tee time. Arrived around 10:30 to give plenty of time to sign in and go on the putting green. We were advised on arrival that there was a society in front of us so play was a bit slow.
The putting green is next to the first tee at this golf course and there were 18 people (6 groups of 3 waiting to tee of infront of us as we got to the putting green at around 10:45. H
We waited until 11:50 to tee off where a queue of 3 other groups had already formed behind us.
We arrived at the second hole where again the majority of the pack of 18 were waiting to tee off meaning another lengthy wait. By 1:15 (1 hour and 25 minutes after teeing off) we had played 3 holes and were fed up of waiting so left.
My playing partner spoke with the guy in the club shop who advised we can go back for a free round whenever we want. Nothing in writing or anything, just advised he’d remember us. Unfortunately, I don’t want to go back.
Surely there should be advisory warnings of slow play/ societies before arrival in case the paying customer doesn’t have the time to wait almost an hour to tee off or have 7.5 hours spare to play a round which is probably less than it would have taken should we have stayed.
Manor golf club
A few temporary tees all permanent greens some greens a bit wobbly but in pretty good condition given the time of year
A tough track when the wind blows!
Friendly Pro greeted us on arrival. The wind was blowing hard which makes it a tough track. Some serious climbs on a couple of holes. 16th par 3 is stunning . Greens could have been better. Will definitely return again in the future.
Excellent Course, Challenging and Interesting
Extremely friendly staff. The pro is excellent and very welcoming. I have been playing at the Manor for the last 3 months and am now considering joining. Very reasonable prices for membership but also some of the best rates for pay and play. The course is very well maintained with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The clubhouse balcony overlooks the course and is the perfect place for a pint after a round.
Great course
Staff and members were very friendly. Played here about 5 years ago and I have to say it's very well looked after now. Greens tricky and in great condition, fairways are mostly lined with trees and make it challenging. Good variety of short and long par fours, so it's not all about getting your driver out! Had a great day and will return here definitely. Highly recommend and for the price, you won't be disappointed.
First timer at the Manor
Played last Saturday 12/04/2017 . Arrived the course car park looked busy but if you turn left though the farm.buildings lots of car park spaces - got a.nice welcome from the club shop pro asked about a putting green which they haven't got ,work in progress - like a putt before I start - there's a driving net and a small driving range and grass practice area
Played with a golf friend who had played there before last year in a golf society.
The course condition was very good - lots of testing holes -small and difficult par 3s - straight shot par 4s and long par 5s water comes into play on various holes - greens were good for the time of year - were not held up - enjoyed my golf day
Had a beer after with food in the clubhouse upstairs overlooking the course - nice helpful staff- very nice -
Would strongly recommend - and will go back and play there again hopefully better now I've been there before.
First timeplay
Course set in beautiful surrounding with river and lakes. A number of the holes had interesting features and landscape very open - easy to avoid the rough.
