The course was cart path only. Very wet is an understatement, but we played anyway.
Course was wet but that's what happens after rain 1 star guy. Was a nice layout took my brother and nephew there had a great time. First 9 went easy and fast seems alot of people showed up out of nowhere for back nine and got a little more crowded feeling. But worth every penny. Great job local course!
In my opinion, this course is very underrated. Conditions aren’t wonderful, as is to be expected, but the layout is great. Lot of wind and a lot of water. Lot of cheap muni’s out there, but not too many designed this good (Joe Finger design, seriously, look up what other courses he did...). Also, greens were redone a couple years back and they are the hardest greens you will ever putt. A lot of undulations and I don’t mean subtle. Pace of play can be slow, but wasn’t yesterday. Driving range is good, especially if you want to practice with wind. Make time for a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito from the grill..
Love this course
Considering all of the rain, cold and wind... I still had. Great time playing this course. It had been 36 years since I played here and the course has withstood the time. The clubhouse is much better than the old one and I was made to feel right at home by the staff.
Fun and Fast
Betty and I have played here twice now, once in the big wind and once in under 10 mph. Course played tough both times due to wetness but greens were great!
Super friendly place. Everyone tries real hardto keep conditions up to par.
Excellent Texas City Golf Course
Awesome southern professional friendly respectful environment, staff, & PGA Instructors. Beautiful greens, great programs, fairways, driving range chipping putting, club house facilities.. Overall recommendations to any private, cooperate, education, businesses for fundraising opportunities and to any level golf player.
Course in Good Shape
The course is looking good, Bayou tends to hold water longer than area courses, but everything had dried out. Pace of play is an issue. I was a single in a cart and couldn’t get through a two-some. At least two open holes ahead of them all day and they were hitting extra shots while people were waiting on them.
Swamp! Too much rain
The course l[ks good all things considered. It is playing extra long since you don't get any roll. The greens were redone a couple of years ago and they are in great shape. No foreign grass anywhere. Hopefully the rains will subside. Cart paths only is tough. Great course for the money on Golf Now!!
The worst course that I have ever played..
If they know it is so so sorky and wet, they should just close the course for the day,
Even though it is hot deal and cheap, the person playing will not enjoy his or her game.
I was so disappointed, I only played nine holes , cause it was that bad. .
If you want people to come back to this course, make some improvements, maintain it well. At least for the price paid.
This is a pretty flat, open course with a few smallish trees. The course is in pretty good condition; especially for mid August. Tee boxes and greens were nice.
I had a good time. I hadn't played much during the summer heat so it was a good place for me to get back into the swing of things.
Course is in good condition, the greens had been punched a couple weeks ago and were a little slow and bumpy, but it shouldn’t be a concern in a couple more weeks.
Great round for the price
I’ve been playing here for years and the course is always in pretty good condition. The staff are friendly and the prices are good. Great round for the value and one of the better public courses in our area
Fun, Forgiving and frustrating
I was with two other singles and we were matched up thanks to a friendly starter. The Greens in the last two months have changed dramatically for the good,The pins were placed strategically and the fairways are decent with green grass making approaches manageable, only two greens would not hold.
The tee boxes are clean and well groomed. The course is very forgiving even though there is water on 16 of the 18 holes. We played on a Saturday in under 4 hours. I was surprised to witness a small amount of golfers for a Saturday... always a nice breeze on this track.
Greens were in pretty good shape. Most of the fairways were in pretty good shape. Pace of play was phenomenal. Really enjoyed this outing
Course layout offers challenges for all levels. The greens are in great shape and roll true.
The course was in pretty good shape minus a few fairways. TC is always a fun and challenging course
Bayou Golf Course
Decent day with higher than expected winds, the greens are really coming in nice now. Teed off around 10:30 am and play began as expected. A few groups in front playing a little slow but with the wind helping to shape shots for you what can you do right : )
Overall the course is getting much better and kudos to the bayou golf team for diligently working to get these greens back to where they belong. Always enjoy playing here, great staff, nice layout and always seem to meet someone willing to pair up, most of the time.
