Good course currently suffering from bad weather
Some very wet, muddy fairways making play quite difficult on some holes. Pick and place essential all over the course but this is standard on many courses at present, indeed Cambridge meridian up the road had shut several holes last week due to flooding.
The greens are however holding up very well.
Not a bad course but no signage or tee markers.
Good course, tee boxes and greens well kept for this time of year.
Course was very wet and a bit boggy in places but we were advised of that in the pro shop.
Main negative was that there was no signage for holes or tee box markers to show what hole you were on, such a simple thing and we found ourselves taking longer as we were trying to work out what was the next hole to go to.
Felt £30 for this course at this time of year was a little steep but would play again in the summer months.
AVOID & PLAY ELSEWHERE
No tee information signs.
No direction to next tee signs.
Grass way too long and worm hills everywhere.
Ground sodden even though not had rain.
Ditches crossing the course stink of stagnant water.
Leaves have totally overrun the fairways.
Mostly flat and just up and down.
Noisy from neighbouring motorway throughout.
Worst course we’ve played in over 40years!
Hotel attached looks derelict.
£30pp is terrible value for money.
On a positive note the pro and member were friendly.
Tees were not marked with any numbers there could have been signs for next tee as a first time there difficult to see where to go next . Drainage in place but a significant downpour left water flooding on 18 th tee . It was a nice parkland course .
Testing course
Course is in fantastic condition, well maintained. My ability didn't do it justice
Great Value Course
Excellent course for the money. Really enjoyable layout
Very enjoyable
Excellent course layout, had plenty of time to play the holes, amazing day out definitely go again.
Not up to usual standard
A couple of days of downpour after hot weather meant the fairways were a little patchy. No information boards for early start. It’s a really challenging course and will be back but will avoid early mornings where possible and get cheaper later tee times.
I won’t drive past again!
The Cambridgeshire is a course I have driven past on the A1/A14 so many times and dismissed it based on location and being in the same complex as a not very highly rated hotel.
Having moved into the area and looking for a new course I asked a friend who recommended it, at the time I did not put two and two together So when I arrived at the course, I was expecting the worst.
How wrong could I be, the course was superb a great layout, fantastic greens and you paid the price if you wandered far from the fairway, a proper test and I enjoyed every minute.
There were not many facilities available off the course but the staff were great very helpful and friendly.
I will definitely be back in the very near future.
Far too windy to be fun.
Would have been a great afternoon but for the ridiculously high winds. Nothing the course owners could do anything about. Regardless the course was in great shape which is a tribute to the green keeping staff. Looking forward to a return on a calmer day.
Boring and unmemorable
The course was in average condition, however the greens were rolling well.
Overall, apart from the dogleg 17th this is a very bland course.
In great shape
We have played this course a couple of times. It’s very well maintained. Greens are in great condition. There is a real variety to the holes and layout is well thought out. Given the Covid restrictions most of the off course facilities are inaccessible. On site pro Mike is worth having a lesson with. All in all we enjoyed our round. Will return.
Nice golf course
Nice golf course. I enjoy playing this course. I was slightly disappointed to find the green fee had risen from £30 a round to £40 in a week.
