Neglected Course

This is the first course I ever played when I was a kid. Returning to this course was supposed to be special but turned out to be the biggest disappointment ever.
Firstly, the bunkers have not been maintained for god knows how long. There were trees beginning to grow in on bunker and the rest were like beaches where the tide had just gone out. They even had stones in them the size of fists, and not just a couple, they were littered with them.
The fairways and greens were ok, however, I don't think the green keeper either plays golf or is interested as every single flay on all 12 holes was placed four foot off the edge of the green in one of the corners of the green. Totally unimaginative and dull. Maybe they did it as a joke.
Their website states they are the friendliest course in Shropshire. If that is true, I never want to play another course in Shropshire. When we turned up, we were greeted by a shop assistance/Pro, who welcomed us as if it being there for him was the last place he wanted to be. Hardly spoke and when he did, it seemed too much effort.
To finish it off, being a council course, dog walkers are allowed to use the course and not all of them tidy up after themselves. Twice my ball ended up close to a pile of dog mess, and it left me thinking how do you stand if your ball is covered in dog poo. Do you get to drop a new ball without penalty - it's not in the rule book.
Overall very disappointing.
