Course was busy but the play flowed nicely. Course was in v. Gud condition.Scored 36 on stapleford so all in all a great day.
Challenging short coure
A challenging short course, one you would want to play again haviing experienced the layout.
Professional was very helpful, welcoming and courteous. Members around the course were very good and friendly once they realised you were a visitor.
A great challenge for golfers of all abilities
Played the course today for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it, so much that there was a unanimous decision to play it again in the near future. It's a good leveller for golfers of all abilities as it's about positional play and not just big hitting. A very warm welcome awaits from staff and members at this hidden gem just on the outskirts of Derby,
Course in very good condition, especially after recent weeks wet Weather. Greens good, and general condition also good. Facilities also good.
Course in excellent condition
Played here for first time and thoroughly enjoyed it
Greens were excellent and a mixture of regular and winter tees
Reception at pro shop and clubhouse first class and really friendly
Nothing to complain about and will be back very soon
Booked a tee for 11.09. When we arrived it was ladies day and we were behind 9 groups of 3 ladies. When you book on teeofftimes your not warned of this because it showed we had loads of times to chose from.
Excellent as ever
Glad to return to mickleover haven't played here in months and the course didn't disappoint, was in a 4ball wasn't held up once and allowed a two ball to play through when they were behind, course in excellent condition , members very friendly as always, as were all the staff, looking forward to return again!
So different from last time i played it.
Always wanted to play again having not played it for 30 years. Mickelover didn't let me down. The course was in excellent condition, fairways, greens immaculate.Lots more trees now which makes it a good test of golf. Locker room, bar facilities, friendliness of staff & pro. excellent.
Fun course , but oh so slow
An interesting but short course , with tricky doglegs and changes of elevation . Good greens with a true roll but should have been faster for the time of year
Day spoilt by pace of play , I followed a group of ladies playing in pairs , who even stopped for a cup of tea at the private halfway house and still didn't let me through or acknowledge I was there
Over 4 hours for a course 5400 yards is terrible, this is a shame as enjoyed the course and everyone else I met was very friendly, would like to have another crack at the course but because of the slow round I will not be returning
FIRST TIME PERCEPTION
BEAUTIFUL SHORT YET CHALLENGING COURSE WITH EXCELLENT TRUE-PLAYING FAST GREENS.
COULD DO WITH AT LEAST 2LONG PAR5s TO MAKE IT MORE CHALLENGING.
Great Course in great condition
The course and particularly the greens are in fantastic condition. The staff were very friendly. We had some lunch after which was very tasty and good value for money. Overall a top day!
1-18 nice, 19th just as nice
nice little golf course very friendly all tidy, greens good a little noisy next to a38 but overall very nice. 19th is terrific good food and drinks very reasonable and good quality, nice people. 3 hour round of golf which was handy on the sunday.
Absolutely excellent course once again, perfect condition but it was a glorious day, pace was excellent especially after a kind 4ball let me play through no one else in sight, pro shop very friendly again and easy to sort any problems out, the clubhouse is fantastic with a great choice of beverages and friendly staff, the members are friendly and welcoming to non members, will be returning again and again
worth a visit
Good course, interesting to play, ground holds water so very wet to play if there has been heavy rain the previous day. That said if you get the chance, play there you will not be disappointed.
I played this course couple of times last summer, I liked it so much that I joined as a member. the staff from the chairman to the bar staff are extremely friendly also great food too.
Enjoyable days golf
Another enjoyable 18 holes played here a few times
Thinking of membership..
Friendly Club a very enjoyable round although the last 4 holes proved difficult to score.
Food and hospitality first class. Golf course in very good condition, a must play again before winter arrives.
What a gem
Mickleover was not too long, but somewhat challenging nonetheless. The greens were superb and the hole designs inventive. Lack of roll was actually a help to avoid the tree linings of the lush fairways. "I wonder where this one goes" was a perpetual query, followed by its close ally "I'd like to play that hole again." LOVED IT.
