Mill Green Golf Club

This course needs to be better marshalled as some players using it are really slow and failing to let through faster groups.
It should not take over 4 hours to go round.

Nobody to be found in the pro shop/Bar for about 10 minites. When someone did show up, no smile, no sense of urgency and an attitude that they were doing me a favour!

Eventually got on the course - no practice mind you, the driving rangs had no balls - and we let a 2 ball jet off in front of us. As it turns out they should have been a 3 ball, but nobody had a clue what was going on, so we ended up taking their abandoned player and going as a 4-ball.

The course itself was okay. Some parts were nice, some less so. Good layout, but broadly speaking the fairways were poor. The reason given was the heat, but it was poor still. Greens though were quite good to be fair, if a bit bobbly.

The real issue I had was the dad's army 4 ball marching us down, playing at a ridiculous speed. We were on the verge of offering to let them through (had a bad hole where they caught us up) but the one wearing club apparel was pretty rude, so we carried on. I'd like to say at this point that we finished our round in 4h 5 mins, just over the recommended time.

By the time we finished, I had no intention of staying for a drink or food.

A real shame. Could be a nice place if the staff didn't have the attitude and members were a bit more welcoming. Instead it's a no from me. Not worth the money, go elsewhere would be the advice.

I loved the course lay-out, the driving range, the greens - but the fairways are super dried out. Just rock hard. Would not recommend playing right now during heatwave. Would love to see the course in better conditions.

Is an excellent course .. greens well looked after ... a bit slow but fine .. fairways a bit dry but got good roll !! love the layout and good use of water and bunkers ... will play again for sure ...

2nd time playing this course, very impressed with the quality and speed of greens, course lay out requires accurate shots through out. Thoroughly enjoyed playing here and worth the money I paid!

I've played Mill Green a number of times and every time I marvel at the beautiful scenery, particularly on the back nine. Always great value for money.

Played the course today after reading all the review and was overall disappointed
Tee boxes we average, fairways were bare and brown, no green grass, hard to distinguish between rough and fairway
Bunkers either not raked or had a lot of stones in
One the plus the green were good, a bit sandy I assume they have just done maintenance but rolled nice.
Grass driving range in good condition, good practise green and even had a practise net by the first tee

Played this course for the first time after seeing the great reviews on tee off times. Turned up half hour early and the chap in the pro shop said we could go straight out as it was quiet. We were very Impressed with the layout of the course, it really makes you manage your tee shots as there are quite a few blind shots. (Hit lots of fairway woods and very few drivers). Holes 13 - 17 really stood out, they look like they would be at home at Woburn or Wentworth ! The 18th was a bit of a let down as a finishing hole but the rest of the course made up for it. The greens were also in excellent condition, not overly fast but ran true.
Now for the but... unfortunately the fairways on all 18 holes were abysmal. I’ve been playing golf for 30+ years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such patchy, muddy, neglected fairways. I understand we had a summer heatwave a few weeks back but other local courses seem to be fine and perfectly playable. It was such a shame as the layout of the course is great.
I would personally like to give it another chance but I would be hard pressed to recommend it to a friend in its current state.

A little gem of a course. Tricky in places but rewarded for playing good shots.

Really enjoyed the front 9 holes which were challenging.

Mill Green GC was in good condition in the unusually hot bank holiday weather. Although afore warned of potentially slow play, this did not turn out to be the case and I never felt held up for and undue length of time. All in all, it was an enjoyable round of golf

Course In great condition Greens fantastic. Windy but dry. Great value! Under £30 each with buggies on a Saturday noon tee time.

Unearthed a gem of a course here. Excellent condition from the tee boxes to the greens.
Great value for an afternoon round, but wouldn't ever pay the peak prices for one simple reason: incredibly slow pace.
If you are fine with that, make sure you go and try this course!

Mill green was superb to play. Great course 3 friendly members let me play through almost immediately. Other than this course was fairly empty at this time. Only negative is the cost. Would still play it again though.

A very enjoyable golf day staff friendly course very good a nice course to walk greens excellent will be going back to play again.

A good front 9 but a great back 9 with some lovely tree lined fairways.. Will be back

Was very excited to be goi g back to Mill Green
Course was playing very well.
Greens were true and the her ally variety of holes added to the challenge .
I play off 14 and finished -3 to complete a perfect day.
Confidence booster to say the least.
