Some great water holes
Great course with a fantastic layout, the 17th is a real card killer! Good paths from the tees saves the course from being boggy in the winter month's.
Only downside is getting to the 1st and back from the 18th but nowt they can do about that and only a small grumble!
Best shoe cleaning service EVER!!!
One of the best shoe cleaning service EVER!!!
Power water, air, brush!!! Shoes have never been so clean!! Even cleaned my spare pair!
Course needs better drainage, which they are working on.
Nice course layout. Makes u think about club choice.
True greens. Look forward to seeing it the summer
Good features
As expected the course is a bit wet. However the greens are well kept..
First time we played here.
Was rather strange layout, in terms of the course being the other side of a major road meaning u have a good 5 minute walk to the 1st.
Course was very wet.
But considering the time of year and the price.
I would definitely recommend and.likely to play again in the summer.
Rude Pro Shop, nice ground staff, nice players
Pro shop lady was completely out of order. We were one minute early for our tee time and went in to ask where the 1st tee was. After saying “hello, how are you I have a tee time at 3:28” to her she just responded with “you’re late so you missed your tee time.” She then proceeded to give a lecture on how there were groups teeing off right behind us and they would have already teed off. When I asked, “how is this even possible, do you have groups teeing off every 3 minutes?” she became increasingly hostile and said she could do us a favour and let us tee off at 4 and made out as if we should be thanking her for the privilege of teeing off. She called me rude several times for asking if groups were teeing off at 2 or 3 minute intervals and I was very happy to get out of the pro shop. It appeared she was very desperate to just tell us not to play and try and keep our green fees.
The young woman who must have been ground staff was incredibly nice and helpful and we arrived at the 1st tee at 3:34. To our complete and utter amazement, there was nobody on the 1st hole and nobody even waiting to tee off. Could it be that the pro shop was completely wrong?
We teed off and never saw a group behind us, played through a very nice solo player who was very friendly and things were going well up until the 10th. It was only then that we discovered what looked like. 4 ball with 3 additional players (4 dads and presumably their sons) playing a 7 ball. This considerably slowed down everyone on the back 9. I wonder if the staff at the pro shop knew? Are 7 balls normal around there? Who knows.
Overall, nice ground staff, nice players but the experience was soured by the lady at the pro shop who was unbelievably rude and hostile and also seemed to have no idea about how tee times were staggered. She had no intention of helping us and didn’t care enough to even say hello or be pleasant in any way. We won’t be back until the memory of that horrible experience with the pro shop lady fades.
Not a bad course
Trolley was not allowed as it was wet and muddy from the previous days of rain. Course is flat and well marked so no issue with walking. Drainage was so so - shoes and pants were more or less ruined. However, I could see it being a pleasant course in spring/summer time. Liked the layout a lot. Played on a hot deal so money for value was good but wouldn't pay more than £30.
Immaculate course
Course in immaculate conditions (bar the drainage lines all over the course) but they are clearly preparing for winter. Spongy fairways and through greens. Was so easy to hit irons off these fairways. Only negatives are the fact you have to cross the road to get to the course from the clubhouse and that the traffic is super noisy for the first 3/4 holes. Will play again. Also got hot deals for £25 each. Great value for money and would happily pay £35-£40
Mill hill
The walk to the first tee is always a long walk..
Course condition very good but the bunkers haven't been racked in a while..
In general a lovely Course and would recommend
First time in a while
Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. The course was in superb condition and the greens were quick! A really pretty course with lots of variety. Just a shame you can never lose the M1 background noise…
Maintenance is an issue
1. Course is in pretty poor shape - temporary tees, fairways under maintenance, greens aren’t kemp
2. I personally find the layout to be quite challenging - quite a few blind tee shots, small greens. But some people may enjoy it
3. Loved the fact that it wasn’t too busy. Was able to play a round in under 3 hours
Great Course
Had a lot fun playing here and will definitely return
Very much enjoyed my first experience of this course! The staff were very polite and the course was fab! The fairways were lovely, with that fab springy feel. The greens were quick but receptive. If I had a criticism, and it would only be a very minor one at that, it would be that the bunkers could have a little more sand in them. The course was challenging with some tight driving holes and a couple of long par 3's. I would have enjoyed playing here even more if only I had played better!!!! I would definitely recommend Mill Hill.
Drainage!
It looked a cracking course and in large parts it was.
But, there was work going on across the course installing drainage channels which spoiled it unfortunately.
Most of the staff were great, apart from one lad on a mower who ignored us around the green and carried on. Irritating but a one off compared to the rest.
Would still give it another go!
