Don't believe the hype or reviews
Where do I start. On arrival course looked good but as the saying goes dont judge a book by its cover.
Pro shop was a complete state boxes everywhere no room to move. Three teens manning the desk where more involved talking amongst themselves then serving us.
Tee boxes hadnt been cut. Fairways where okay but seen better at the local pitch and putt. Greens where shocking worst I've played this year played better greens else where in winter.
Walked off after 12 holes went to the bar no staff about when one finally appeared all we was greeted with was "kitchen closed" so just walked out. Wont be back wouldn't recommend it to anyone on today's experience.
For a course with such great reviews and a 65 quid price tag when booking through there site I'd just stay away and play elsewhere. Course has so much potential some stunning holes just shocking standards.
Great course, greens were incredible for this early in the season ,stunning par 3’s ,no two holes the same ,members should be very proud of this course
Excellent testing course
This is by far the best and most challenging course I have played this year. The entire course was in superb condition. I would recommend this course to anyone.
The course is really nice and well kept. Some challenging holes and some birdie chances too. Will definitely play there again. The bar isn't great but that's only a small thing.
Fine course. Love the challenge and variation and greens in great nick.
A true test of golf. Clearly well looked after so I applaud the greens keepers and ground staff.
Only thing I’d improve is water somewhere to drink during your round. No drinking fountain and half way house was not open.
Other than that, highly recommended
Course was in good condition but pace of play was terrible. Group of 4 ladies were not letting a queue of 2 balls through and therefore the round ended up taking just under 5 hours.
Definitely not run of the Mill
A very attractive course with a number of memorable holes.
Course a little wet in places, but overall in very good condition given the recent bad weather.
Greens pacy and some interesting undulations.
Staff really friendly and helpful.
Nice clubhouse and facilities. Bar has good selection of food a drink.
Well worth a visit. Our fourball will be back for sure.
Great condition and fantastic greens
The course had heavy overnight rain the night before and we had a 10am teetime dreading the worst but conditions were excellent. The drainage is great as the greens were fast and true and in great condition and all fairways completely playable and not a temp green in sight. A proper test of golf where you use every club in the bag and a very interesting well designed course. Very friendly service in bar and pro shop. Highly recommended.
eccellent course, well set-up and in a beautiful area. very peaceful. all you could want really.
First time playing Mill Ride (recommended by a friend) and I can say I wasn't disappointed. Challenging course with accuracy a premium. Not very long but anything wayward can cost you a couple shots.
Fairways immaculate (when I found them :)) and greens quite friendly but a good read is a must!
I will definitely play it again and it's a good test. If you shoot a good score you've earned it-you can't luck you way around. Friendly staff!
Definitely worth playing and I look forward to returning. Enjoy!
Choose your tee and have a blast!
A strong & varied course lay-out with different and interesting challenges for each hole, with the excellent added option of 4 different tees for all abilities, ages and sexes - 6.9k, 6.5k, 5.9k & 5.7k yards.
With so many short courses around it's great to have the option of the back tees and play long irons-fairway woods into greens for the longer hitter.
I'd thoroughly recommend this course to golfers of all ability and also like to commend the staff and members on their friendliness and willingness to call 2 balls through, even on a bank holiday.
Will definitely re-visit, especially with such value for money green fees
The course looked great but the weather was against us. Thunder, lightning and heavy rain, causing standing water on the greens, prevented the 3 of us from getting beyond the 4th! A real shame on what looked to be a good course. Another day perhaps?
A Quality Course
Mill Ride is a lovely course, with plenty of variety and some really quite challenging holes, particularly the 3rd and the 11th, which are both lengthy par-3's with a significant carry over water. Playing to handicap here is an impressive feat, but the course is fun to play even if you don't score as well as you would like.
Great value for money course in great condition. Greens lovely
Different layout on every hole (hot deal for £25 ) well worth it . This course is beautiful ( I PLAYED TERRIBLE) but will definitely be back j
Enjoyed going round this very well kept course. It was tough, need to be straight off the tee and the greens ran quickly. There was plenty of water well positioned on the course too. Only thing I would suggest is pictures of the hole on each tee. Was difficult to see where some holes went unless you looked online.
Excellent course, beautifully maintained, great setting and so peaceful. Fairways excellent and manicured greens
Love this course
Mill Ride for some reason doesnt attract players like it should.
They could spend money updating some facilities, making the food more modern and training staff to be pro-active, but its a great little club, with a fabulous course.
