Love this course

Mill Ride for some reason doesnt attract players like it should.
They could spend money updating some facilities, making the food more modern and training staff to be pro-active, but its a great little club, with a fabulous course.

Mill Ride

Awesome course, a proper challenge for all involved and the greens were fantastic... some of the courses you play for £35 are awful, this is as good as you'll get for less than £40 in Surrey/Berkshire

Mill ride

This was the first time on the course. The staff were very friendly and helpful and let us tee off a little early as the course was empty

The course was in good condition especially the greens considering it had rained a little before hand

A tight challenging course with some excellent challenging par 3's.

The only improvement would be better signage to the next hole

We are already planning our next round there

Little gem hiding in Ascot suburbs

I have played this course several times. The layout is outstanding. It is in well wooded countryside so virtually all fairways are lined by trees and sometimes you can even have an impeded shot from the fairway. There are also several holes where water also poses a challenge. The fairways and tees are excellent. When I was there the greens had been recently cored and sanded so were not great but still perfectly playable.

The course would be quite hard to find without a GPS system.

In my opinion excellent value.

Condition

The course is in excellent condition, unfortunately the greens had been worked on the day before so a little sandy, but in a few days they will great.

Hidden Gem!

Absolutely cracking course, with challenging par 3's and driveable par 4's to long tight par 4's.
After a nice easy par 5 to start, you then have the stroke index 2 hole driving over water, then a par 3 over water, then a very tight par 4 with water left and OB right ! So your card could be wrecked when you stand on the 5th tee! (mine was !)
The fairways are immaculate and the greens are fast and true, even at this time of the year!
The 11th is the pick of holes, a 175 yard par 3 over water, almost like Augusta!

Shot 90, not a great game, but still enjoyed the course!

Pleasant surprise

Very exacting and testing course, even off the daily yellow tees it provided a good test of golf.
The greens had been cross seeded but still ran very true and were certainly not slow.
Good layout with some excellent par 3's (3rd and 11th) and personally my favourite 10th which is a fine risk/reward par 5.
Only downside as it is still early season, some green surrounds were still patchy with not a lot of growth leading to some tricky chips/pitches into quick greens but overall a great course at the money paid.
Will definitely be back again, was a fun and quick round with friendly members and staff in the clubhouse too

nice with some improvement areas

Nice old course well maintained considering the bad weather. All fairways and greens fully playable.
the experience in the club house can improve.
Only 1 electric chart available, and no recommendations and guidance by the caddy master.
there are no signal between wholes so it is easy to get lost.
Efficiency in the bar can be better.
With some managerial attention this could be a great course.

Surprisingly nice and challenging course

We have never heard of this course before and decided to try it out on a dry day at the end of October
The course is layed out around 7 lakes in beautiful parkland and has some very nice and challenging holes.Considering the time of year, the greens were in good condition.
It was very good value and the pace of play for a Sunday was good.
I have recommended this club to other members of my home club

A lovely course

Mill Ride has a good combination of interesting features - water, blind drives etc - that make it great fun for a decent golfer (10-18 hcap) but still sensibly playable for a less experienced player.

Some of the course can get a little muddy in the winter, but most of the time it is great. Greens are good - fast but not lethal, and are consistent and pretty true.

Fantastic condition

I've played Mill Ride a few times now and it was in fantastic condition yesterday. The greens were immaculate as were the fairways, tee's and bunkers. The course is largely challenging with a lot of tight fairways and trouble to avoid. All the par 3 holes are a challenge as well. It's a pleasure to play. A members handicap here would certainly travel well.

Average

Average course - signage for holes needs painting as it easy to get confused between green and next tee - lots of ducks on fairways and bunkers where in poor condition - Staff never commented on course or any advise
