Good
Course could be sign posted a little better and would be nice to be playing of real tee box instead of temporary tees but if tee box playable you can help it
Wet unferfoot, but at least available
Very wet week, and most other clubs closed. We had a good round at Lyndhurst GC which was very quiet, but available.
Many temporary greens being used, but we were pleased to be able to play.
Beer afterwards was as good as it always is.
Course lay out
The course could do with signage showing direction to walk to next holes
We got lost several times
Course in very good condition
Not played NF for a couple of years & very impressed with the course conditions, especially the greens, given the heavy rains we’ve had in the past couple of weeks. Always a warm welcome to visitors & good atmosphere in the bar afterwards.
Love this course!
4 ball, we return every year, lovely course, greens excellent, and staff very friendly, not sure of names but lady in pro shop excellent people person and the same can be said about the lady behind the bar, only downside to the day was very slow play but the lady in the pro shop went out of her way to rectify this for us, we have been treated poorly at other golf courses in the area, but new forest golf club look after their visitors as well at their members.
New Forest Golf Club
Great course, very friendly staff, great sandwiches and beer after round
A lovely walk in the Forest
We visited during a very hot spell, so conditions were very dry, meaning long carries and very tricky to judge round the greens.
The greens themselves were in excellent condition, and very fast but true.
The layout of the course is a little quirky in places, so a helpful map is available from the pro shop along with a useful briefing from the friendly staff.
All in all a lovely course in beautiful surroundings, with some very interesting holes. Great value!
Gem of a course
What a lovely experience playing this course the greens are in lovely condition and very fast so took a few holes to get used to it.
The clubhouse is lovely and everyone is so welcoming and friendly and made it a truly relaxing experience.
Will return to try and lower my score don’t be fooled by the low slope rating on the course this is a very challenging course that will test your short game and putting skills
Thanks and see you again soon
A great round!
Always a relaxing game of golf in this awe-inspiring national park location. The new forest ponies just put the cherries on the cake to what is always a great course to play.
Tidy little track
Overall a lovely day. Staff soo welcoming and friendly. The course itself is quirky with 7 par threes but you have to take that into context of the fact it’s a course in a National Park so space is limited and protected. The holes themselves are well designed and thought out and will challenge all golfers. Greens were running well and at a good pace. Bunkers contain just the right amount and type of sand. Definitely a course that requires thought of the tee as you can find yourself short sided or hindered with errant shots. That said there is forgiveness. It was actually lovely having the wild horses wandering about everywhere. :) I’ll definitely play it again.
Pleasantly surprised
Got there early had bacon bap bit fatty but i dont mind had to make my own coffee still no probs there staff friendly and other golfers very welcoming too. Got to first tee and noticed no rough which is great as i knew i wouldnt lose many balls as fairways are very forgiving and no hill which is great for my feet ideal course for beginners and yet still challenging was looking forward on seeing the local ponies bit not one in sight other than dropping here and there which u do notice with some hoof marks on greens with the usual unrepaired pitch marks but was well worth the 45 minute drive even if the sat nav took us the scenic route with beautiful surroundings.
Excellent value
Brilliant value for money. Course in good condition and pro shop well stocked with friendly staff. No complaints.
Beautiful setting In the heart of the New Forest, will definitely play there again
Great value
13 pound for 18 holes on a Saturday. Greens in excellent condition. Fairways largely forest land. Open course. Only slight issue is signposts for next tees aren't on some holes where it isn't obvious. But overall excellent
New Forest little gem
Lovely natural course . Tough outward 9 with opportunities to score back 9. Beautiful surroundings
