Well maintained coirse
Played here for the first time while I was away with work. Was impressed by the amount of work that’s been done to keep the course playable. Wasn’t that wet seeing as we’ve had even more rain these last few days. Greens where fantastic, fairways where cut. It was not boggy in the slightest on play. I was blown away for the price as I am from Southport £10 wouldn’t even get you 9 holes on the muni.
Definitely recommend, I will certainly be bringing the clubs to play here again next time I’m up with work.
Value for money
Played Bulwell Hall at the weekend as a last minute knock as the weather was good. Overall we were really happy with the course. This isn't the Belfry but it doesn't pretend to be, great value for a well kept course. Can be a little difficult to plot your way round if it's your first time but other players were happy to direct us if needed. Staff were great also. You can see they're working hard to improve the course in places. Greens were very firm and a tad wobbly but no complaints from us. Would recommend
Local Golf
Good course, 15 holes open currently at the time of playing. Nice area and nice course all round
Great value for money and great course for my handicap !
This course was an absolute delight to play, being as though other courses I looked at on this day were closed due to too much rain the days coming up to it. I couldn't believe how nice and easy it was getting round there some holes were shut due to the weather but the sun came out to play that day and made for a stunning round of golf with great playing speed. Would 100% recommend this course to any player of any handicap the value for money is unbelievable ! For some reason it will not allowe.to upload the photos we took that day but they are stunning ! 5 out of 5 for me.
Wet course but still so much fun
I’ve played the front 9 a few times but managed to get out intending to play the full 18 holes. Two holes were closed due to course conditions and buggy access wasn’t available the whole way round. Its winter, its rained quite heavily recently and so it’s understandable that some areas would be inaccessible. The greens were still great, we still had a great round and we’ll be back again pretty soon. Great staff, excellent service and friendly patrons make for an excellent experience. I’d love a dry area to warm up with nets but that would be my only ask of Bullwell Hall.
A great value offering
Considering the green fees for this course I was somewhat impressed with how the course is maintained. Greens were good, albeit not the quickest, also general well fairways and later tee time offering and value a plus. I enjoyed the front 9 and a bit of variety. The back 9 was also good, the 15th, 16th and 17th are played across the road, and parts of which suffer with heavier, wetter grounds and is undergoing work. Enjoyable course nonetheless.
Played this course in the summer and now winter. If you get the chance play this course.
Wet not and flags removed by staff
Course on verge of being unplayable . Told 15,16 and 17 closed due to water not draining. But found fairway of 13 still open but 6 inches of muddy water all over fairway . During round green keeper said he was told to remove all flags at 3pm whilst still playing round . The open greens were ok but fairways mostly undistinguished from rough. Should not have been open today as not playable as a golf course and can’t recommend at all. Stay away in wet winter conditions.
Bullwell hall
Excellent golf course, very friendly people beautiful day out Excellent facilities I would recommend this course to anybody
Nice course
Played here today brilliant course for beginners will definitely be back few tees had been moved due to weather bit great day 👍
Very wet course should be closed on fay
Prepared to take money for 18 holes but wettest course ever played. Should have been closed and told about horrendously muddy 6 inch mud in fairways beforehand.
Did not respond to email so will not go there again.
For how much the course cost to play you can't grumble at all really
Great value and good pace of play
Played on a Friday, great deal for a one ball through GN. V hot day but got round in good time, one four ball let me through swiftly. Course condition good, greens also good and rough not too punishing.
Played the course with a few pals, not a bad layout of the course. I can’t complain for the money, bunkers need a little tlc and greens were some of the slowest I’ve played.
Ted
Took my son for his first ever 18 holes. I'm a member elsewhere, but Bulwell Hall ideal for beginners. No snobby members, wide fairways so quite forgiving but fairways in great condition. Mature attractive course and great value.
Friendly clubhouse and good choice of refreshments. Will come back soon
