Friendly GC

Good and varied layout of the course. It was well maintained and the staff all were friendly.
Not our first visit and certainly won’t be our last.

Tee for two with a view

First time playing this course - but it won’t be the last! Course was superbly manicured with excellent greens & fairways. Panoramic views from the higher holes - Welsh view was superb!
Many a testing dog - leg and as such a real tester for those of us who aren’t particularly straight off the tee!

Good course but may be lost to tee off

Always enjoy a round here despite playing badly today. Good variety of holes, some challenging and plenty of wildlife always knocking about. What concerned me was when the staff said they were going to cancel the tee-off arrangement because they are never notified about bookings.
I sense this may be a two way thing as there isn't the more savvy computer based booking in systems that many other tee-off courses employ. Hopefully Tee-off will read about this and make contact with Onneley to resolve the matter so it can remain an option.

Buy a course planner

If you haven't played this course before, I would recommend you buy a course planner. There are several dogleg holes on the course and it is difficult to make club selection without local knowledge. There are no hole maps on the tee boards, so we were in the dark on several holes

Bearing in mind the recent drought like weather conditions, the overall condition of the course was good. Some of the tees were worn, but the greens were fair, if a little slow.

Hospitable steward ensured we enjoyed our after round drinks in the pleasant clubhouse.

Fine day out

Course maintenance perfect. Greens excellent. Rather hilly for walking (aged 72). Had an enjoyable experience. Two minor niggles: some tees make drives over other fairways and can be a bit worrying at times on a first visit, and use of different flag heights is a good idea but both the blue and green flags made it difficult to pick out the flag stick against the background (possibly use of yellow and white ?)
Would recommend a visit.

Slightly heavy going

As most courses suffering with the heavy rain, greens good, fairways good, muddy around tee boxes. All tees played off mats.

Friendly club

Course was in good condition, and the greens were excellent. Major refurbishment being undertaken to the club house over the last couple of visits. This does not distract in any way to the golf in general. It's a course we play four to five times a summer.
