Great greens
Considering the heat and sun we have had the greens were perfect, tee boxes and fairways were good. Friendly club, layout is excellent
Great value
This is an inexpensive course but nicely put together - a mix of 3, 4 and 5s.
It is a nice spot, and rewards good straight shooting
Greens especially good
Not busy - good value
Does what it says on the tin
Greens in good order
Not one to mark a course down for winter conditions but...
This was terrible. Very waterlogged despite being fairly hilly, 2 temporary greens which isn't bad considering how wet most of the greens were. You were leaving pitch marks on some greens from as little as 50 yards and on the 18th i'd plugged the ball from 30 yards. It was really soft under foot.
5x Par 3s on the front 9 can be a killer for the score on a bad day but if playing well it means the front is a really easy 9, can't get into too much trouble except on the 6th with the trees down the right but thats about it.
Back 9, again fairly simple and straight forward with a few more hazards but again not very challenging.
It was a fairly windy day yet didn't have too much effect on the scorecard.
Can't comment on staff as i turned up got my card and cracked on, by the time i got back in it was just about dark so it was straight to my car, shoes changed and heading home. Although on arrival the 'lounge' was very busy.
I will give this course another shot in the summer to see if it is just really bad because of winter as the price was cheap.
Don’t waste your money
The course was in awful condition and it had little to do with the hot weather. Tess were bare and uneven. Greens were 2 paced with lush green grass and dead brown grass all over the place and then there were what look like tyre makes on them!
No wonder we only saw 2 other people playing
Ruxley Park
Thoroughly enjoyed the day, course in good condition, well laid out, good variety of holes.
Club house a bit tired but had everything you need, will definitely go back.
Good course, tee box and fairways kept in good condition but greens need a lot of work, but good value for money.
Overall review
The front 9 is like a hilly par 3 course whereas the back 9 opens up more and feels more like an 18 course. Course condition is decent for the time of year but for me the green fee was overpriced for the time of year and the standard of the course. I must say the full English before our round was top notch! Staff are friendly.
