Great course all round
Good condition course and a friendly welcome with very good amenities
It should have been closed
The course was far too wet and should not have
been open . It certainly wasn’t worth the Green Fee
we paid
Very disapointing
Only a random 9 holes open, course was really too wet to be open. Took over 2.5 hours for 9 holes. So many people on the tee second time round so gave up after 9
Slow and soaked
The speed of play was dreadful, course had a Marshall at 1st tee, but he did nothing to manage slow play out on the course. Nobody was letting anyone through meaning it took 5+hours. The course was soaked through, some areas were like a swamp/pond not sure it should have been open.
Lefties
The course is ok. The driving range compartments are difficult for left-handlers. The computer screens are fitted so that right handlers are facing them, but for lefties, they are over your left shoulder, and only a couple of inches off making contact with your back swing.
Very distracting.
Great weather
Front 9 in great condition . Back 9 needs work .
Pace of play on the back 9 was awful , 3 ball in front weren’t great golfers and looked like they didn’t know the rules , wouldn’t let us through. From the 12 th tee we waited on every tee. Not a marshal or club rep insight .
Overall good course ruined the day ,speed of play but could have been sorted by a course marshal !
Good course poor maintenance
A little disappointed in the course, it has been a while since I last played here unfortunately the condition has deteriorated.
Bunkers where out of action on the most part as receiving weed killing so that can be forgiven, where as the greens where not in good condition, One of the Tee’s for a par 3 was also out of action and this seems a little strange for the end of summer. Still enjoyed my round but could of been better
Confusing layout
I really enjoyed playing here. The main difficulty as a it was the first time playing there. Was a lack of signage to let you know where you are going. No course layout on the scorecard. Also some blind holes where you are hitting over the hill had no markers to suggest where you are aiming which made a few holes difficult. Not that I’d of got near the target anyway but food for thought for people playing the course for the first time. Overall really good condition golf course though.
A long time between rounds
The last time I played here was 15 years ago, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did back then. The staff in both the pro shop and the bar were very friendly and helpful. The course layout was exactly the same, so no issues with remembering which way to walk between tees. Some holes can challenge your game to the max, and considering the weather we've had, the course is in great condition,, especially the greens. Will definitely come back sooner next time.
Refund due to closure (weather)
I am writing to you to claim a refund due to the course being closed as a result of bad weather. 9 holes were open out of the 18 meant to be played. We were told you would be able to offer us a refund by the club.
Enjoyable round
I just wanted a cheap round in the evening and was pleasantly impressed with how nice the course was overall.
Greens were really pure, dropped a fair few 10 footers which I was super pleased about.
For the about of foot traffic this course gets, it is really well looked after.
1st time playing Paultons
Have to say it's great to play Paultons for 1st time. The course is a challenge for my handicap (14.8) as there is chances of birdies on the par 5 but the par 3 you have to be careful with.
The greens were in lovely knick and ran very true with a nice place, the only negative was the rough to the edges of the fairways had only just been cut so there was a lot I grass cutting so u lost a few balls to off center drives but I must reiterate we were told of this when we signed in but the club house.
Def play again soon.
Well done to the green keeper and staff.
Very poor drainage
Had to abandon the round after the 9th. Too wet. Footprints everywhere. Greens unplayable. Many holes under water. 9th reduced from par 5 to 80 yard hole.
Requesting refund.
Course should be closed due to conditions
Rough day out
As a high handicapper was looking forward to a day out with a fellow high handicapper.
The tone was set from the start with a relatively nice drive, that just strayed into the rough 1st of what felt like 20 lost balls.
The rough all over the course was literally unplayable. If you found the rough it was a miracle if you found the ball, and even if you did you'd have been better off taking a drop than trying to play it.
We had conversations with atleast 4 different groups around the course and every single one was complaining about the state of the rough.
The greens and fairways however were immaculate and scenary was lovely, unfortunately that's tainted by the state of the rough.
Would not reccomend for anyone above an 18 handicap, especially for the price. Lovely staff and facilities however.
Great course, but found the rough to be way too long, If you managed to get in there, no way would you find your ball!..
Great value
Great value for money.
Course in amazing condition, tee box’s tidy, fairways neat with not too many dry patches, edges of greens trimmed well and greens playing true and with pace. A clearly well maintained course with nice views around of the surroundings. Near the theme park so you can hear screams on rides at times but mainly background noise as opposed to random shouts.
Some rather simple holes when played off yellows but you’ve still gotta play well to score well. The majority all very much enjoyable though with some tricky approach shots and on the back lots of tight tee shots make for some fun.
Would definitely recommend and I will absolutely be coming back, great rates for what you get.
