Ponteland Golf Club

Played Ponteland Golf Club today - the course is a pretty average parkland layout without much variety, but is clearly well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the Club booking system doesn't intergrate with GolfNow. As a result when we arrived the Club had no record of our booking or payment, and the tee time we had reserved online was unavailable. We waited 30 minutes for another tee time, but on a busier day this would have been more of a problem. As a result I won't be returning in a hurry.

First time at Ponteland. Met with welcoming friendly faces and straight on to the most well kept course.

When all other courses in the North East seemed closed due to weather Ponteland was open and perfect. Dry, great greens and a beautiful course!

Old guy that worked in shop needs to learn some manners, as if he doesn’t want people outside the club playing there

Despite the slightly grumpy welcome by the old guy in the pro shop (who felt a 4 ball should not have been able to book a morning tee time) , we enjoyed our day enormously, the course was in excellent condition, the greens superb, pace of play also good (3 hours 40 minutes for our 4 ball), a flat easy walking course. The clubhouse staff were pleasant and attentive, the bacon rolls awesome!

As it was fathers day, I got the choice to play wherever I choose and I can certainly say I thoroughly enjoyed Ponteland GC on Sunday.

The course was in immaculate condition, the layout is one that can challenge but is enjoyable. Currently being a member of a links track it was good to see some trees :-).

I have to admit it would be an absolute pleasure to be a member here playing off the whites in particular being welcomed into the clubhouse by friendly and courteous staff.

Particularly impressed with the quality of the greens especially for the time of year

Received a free round courtesy of American Golf. Very easy to book through Tee Off Times, putting in the code American Golf had sent me for the free round.
Took paperwork to the pro shop on the day, only to be greeted by a very unhappy pro, inferring that I shouldn't have received the free round !
Only grudgingly did he allow me to play.
This is the second time I have found him unfriendly, the first time was when I went for a lesson, which he had forgotten about. There was no apology, I was just told I hadn't come very far, inferring it didn't really matter that he had forgotten ! Because of this, he lost a potential new member ! Instead, I joined another club.
However, the course is in lovely condition, with very fast greens & the caterers have a very good name as well.

First time played here and nice course , greens firm about the fastest I've played on this year ! Good course
