Enjoyable round

First time I have played at Pottergate for a year. Course was in good condition and distance to greens was well laid out. Rather slow first 9 but second round was reasonable. Able to sit out afters 18 holes and enjoy beer in the sunshine.

Friendly 9-holer

First time playing this course. Very good condition for the time of year- especially the greens. Had to use my pitch repairer quite a lot, which was a shame, but didn’t spoil the round. Some winter tees & mats in use but that was no problem- even saw some of the greens staff working hard to look after this lovely course. Large greens with 2 flags on each 9, yellows for the front 9,red flags for back 9,so you had to concentrate to play to the correct flag on each hole. A couple of the holes a bit tight off the tee, so you have to be reasonably straight, as well as a stream that comes into play on a few holes & a lovely water feature on the 9th/18th hole. Very helpful & friendly staff & members,, especially the lady who booked us in. Great beers to finish with in the bar rounded off a very enjoyable day. I would think it could be really busy on competition days, but we wouldn’t hesitate to hopefully return in the future.

Pottergate

On arrival I was made to feel very welcome.

The course was fabulous and the greens ridiculously good!

Clever course requiring good iron play.

Food was lovely and excellent value for money.

Will definitely be returning.

A gem of a course, beautiful greens and well looked after

This course is immaculately maintained with greens amongst the best I have played on. We were made very welcome and even served our beer by the green keeper. Beware the sneaky stream which snakes it’s way unseen across many of the fairways and adjust your tee shots accordingly. On the second nine I teed off with an iron or 5 wood on several of them. The course may be short but it is a good test of golf and a lovely friendly club

Very well planned course

We were made to feel very at home by the staff on arrival. It's a 9 hole course with 2 pins on each green and the overall length is not that long but they have created difficulty into every hole. The condition of the course overall was very good and the greens were outstanding. The on site facilities were excellent as well and it was very competitively priced.
All in all a great round and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Pottergate

Despite the recent bad weather the course was in great condition and you can tell it was extremely well cared for. A great layout with a challenge on each hole, despite being short it was difficult to score pars or better playing off 15.
Staff and members were extremely friendly and most accommodating.
Will definitely be back soon.

Great greens.

A lovely 9 hole course with fantastic lare greens. Even this time of year they roll well and run true.
Greens are very large so if playing 18 the second pin on each green makes the hole play very differently.
Well worth a visit.
Good beer too 😀

Enjoyable round of golf

I found the course challenging. It is not a long course but you are required to think your way around this track. The are numerous hazards to avoid and the greens were fantastic for this time of the year. I really enjoyed the day, the clubhouse was welcoming with a great selection of beers. The food presented looked great. I cannot wait for my next round there.

Wet but enjoyable 9 hole hidden gem

This lovely track is hidden away in the Lincolnshire countryside, near the village of Potterhanworth. Me and my playing partner were drawn in an open match-play knockout first round fixture played at this course.

It was wet and boggy in patches but the fairways were no better or worse than most courses, what with the recent hammering of rainfall.

The course has 9 greens with 2 pins on each, making it an 18 hole course. Whilst relatively short in yardage, it is well thought out, and, there is one genuine par 5 and four par 4s which are testing.

The highlight for me was the 220 yard par 3 6th. The pin on the front 9 is located on a top tier which is 30 ft higher than the bottom tier where the pin was located on the back 9. Whilst the tee remained the same, the hole played very differently when comparing the front and back nines (3 clubs difference for myself!).

There was only 1 temporary green in place when we visited and the other 8 all played very true with some tricky undulations to keep you on your toes.

The members we played against were more than hospitable and the staff were also very friendly and food we had afterwards was top notch (Thai curry).

There is a net, a small practice ground and a putting green so enough there to have a decent warm up before teeing off.

All in all, given the weather has not been kind recently, I would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning myself in summer time to play the course at it’s very best.

A little gem of a 9 holer

I found this course when looking for somewhere to play casual golf. I was a 15 handicap but stopped membership due to work commitments and now only play for pleasure.
This is one of the best 9 hole courses that I have played and beats the others locally. All the holes are different and there is even a par 5 with a very tight drive and a par 3 over 200 yards. It has 9 greens but 18 tees and flags so can get a little slow but for £12 offers great value. The club/bar serves good food and the staff are friendly.
