Great hidden gem
A very good course with friendly members and staff,
Would definitely return
Unplayable!
Please don’t take this as a rant, quite simply the course shouldn’t of been opened. Water on most greens which wouldn’t of been in average condition anyways to be honest!I don’t thing the course seen a mower for a few days, fairways covered in leaves, never lost so many balls before. It was like a quagmire in places! Really disappointing and a waste of money.
Golf
Course a bit boggy all greens & tee's as normal , lost 3 balls due to plugged & leaves worth £30, great in the summer
Way too slow!
Been a few years since I played here but booked a 2 ball through Golf Now. Greens in very good condition for the time of year, some areas a little wet/boggy under foot but generally in good condition.
Main problem yesterday was the amount of people that had been packed onto the course. Over 4.5 hrs for our round and constantly waiting on every tee. Feel the course haven’t managed that well and have just tried to make as much £ as they could. 8 min gaps to tee times when it’s packed with society golf just doesn’t work in my opinion.
Great Course - Recommended for Golfers of all Abilities
Great course to play which was in excellent condition despite the recent hot weather. The greens were too hard though making approach shots very difficult. Also on a couple of holes there is a long walk from the green to the next tee.
Course is very enjoyable to play and can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. We will definitely return.
Lovely course
Big fan of this course - not the longest, but still testing due to it’s good layout and thick (ish) rough.
Only criticism was the number of pitch marks on the greens - not so much a criticism of the course but of other golfers.
Nice clubhouse for a pint afterwards too!
Slow pace
For a Wednesday morning I was very disappointed in the pace of place, 2 ball with rounds of 81 and 94 but still took 4.5 hours to get around.
It is a lovely course however with wonderful setup and greens that are fast and challenging. The parklands make it a beautiful course that is lovely to escape to.
Nice course in great condition
Greens in excellent condition as was the whole course. Had a good round by my standards (gross 92 handicap 27.8). Will certainly come back in the future.
Greens need work
Played this course a few times over the last couple of years. Really enjoy the layout of the course as it has some interesting holes. However, this time around the greens were not in a good way. I am by no means an expert in how to maintain greens, but every single one was patchy and bobbly which made it very difficult to try and hole putts of any length. Disappointing and I hope they get it sorted soon but I will not be returning until next season in the hope they have done so by then.
Good course
good course still boggy in patches greens need work. wpuld play again in summer and to see if greens get any better
Cracking course
Great course, unfortunate to be jammed behind a society but managed to play through quite a few groups, course in decent nick, greens a bit patchy and tee boxes need some trimming down but other wise decent
Very poor conditions
First visit to this course and won’t be returning, greens were appalling, fairways (and I use the word fairways very loosely) were like you’d expect a first cut of rough to be, the first cut of rough was ankle high and to be charged £33 was daylight robbery in my opinion. I get that it’s the beginning of April and there’s been lots of rain but I’ve played all through winter at various locations. Municipal course conditions but charging private course green fees.
Slow play and quite a boring round.
This place is a lovely spot for the older generation . Pace is slow and the area is very scenic.
The course isn’t very challenging and quite featureless .
The staff are friendly and the club house is very nice but all in all a bit of boring course.
Loved the course and facilities it had a really good practice area the only draw back were the greens they were in a poor state and looked diseased
We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your round with us at the weekend, however, you still managed to play the 18 holes and did not say anything when finishing your round.
As you know by the weather over the last few months its been difficult to get mowers out onto the course due to the soft ground. All parkland courses are suffering in the area but we where still open for play.
We had many visitors on the day plus a society that enjoyed the course and gave no complaints.
We feel its a harsh comment to say it was a waste of money when no complaint was made on the day or even a refund was requested.
