OMG How much????
Played here yesterday 2/6/20 and was stunned when we went into pay that it was £39. This is never a £39 course. They even had the cheek to want £49 at a weekend. There are so many better courses around for half the money. This course is a £20 max course. Even the older gentleman in the pro shop was miserable as sin. So please avoid paying twice over the odds for an average course.
Diabolically slow
Booked tee time mid morning through tee off site. At check in told behind a society which we might catch up, unfortunately we did on SECOND hole. Two fourballs one with 5 people and only 3 sets of clubs between them. Dressed in track bottoms and football shirts mostly and all over the course very slow. W skipped ahead at 10 so only played 17 holes in over 4.5 hours. Club house just told them to let people play through but no control or stewardship. Have played here a few times but very disappointing today and without a change won’t be going again. BE VERY CAREFUL BOOKING HERE MIDWEEK SMACKS OF NEEDING CASH MORE THAN LOYALTY and none of members we spoke to seemed bothered. Poor.
Greens were perfect
Please try this course, no two holes are the 'same', Well worth a visit.
Fantastic greens
Really enjoyed playing this course with the fantastic true greens, would definitely recommend.
Unbelievable winter greens
I am lucky to get to play golf at lots of top courses through events and through work and I don't think I have ever seen greens as good as this in January. The rest of the course was as wet as I expected but the greens were immaculate.
I am now considering joining this course when my current membership at a top Surrey course expires this year.
There are some longer walks between green and tee than some would like and it is quite hilly for the first 12 holes but after that it eases.
Mud bath
Good challenges-full course but the drainage could’ve addressed in winter months
Great conditions of greens though considering!
Almost unplayable, but good in summer
I have played here in summer in the past and it offers a good challenge and a good workout - using the hill features to good effect. This is the first time I have played it in winter and it was in very poor condition and you need wellies for some of the fairways. A lot of the teas were closed wit platform alternatives, often very badly placed. One par 3 was entirely unplayable apart from the green itself. To be fair, most of the greens were in reasonable condition. I don't think I would play this again in winter. Trousers: mud up to my knees, don't ear your best togs!
Nice course
Great course, greens in great condition, very quick for the time of year. Course boggy in places.
Course condition very disappointing
I really shouldn't complain as we only paid £11.00 for our round. I had called the pro shop to book a buggy but was told that the buggies weren't being used and after our round I know why. The course was very wet and boggy which I couldn't understand as we had only had rain on a previous day. Every shot you had to wipe your ball because of the mud which had collected on it.
It's a shame as the course has a lovely layout with some terrific par 3's. The greens were good but just a shame you had to play through a mud bath to get to them.
The other problem with this course is the M25 and the constant din you have to put up with on the front nine, I found it was difficult to chat with my playing partner without speaking loud so he could hear me.
Open course with lots of features
course in excellent condition greens immaculate and fairways in good condition plenty of features- tree lined, lakes and Brooks. quite hilly so be prepared!- would recommend a buggy
plenty of space
Each hole has enough hazards to make you think but plenty of space.. semi is ok, next cut is deep enough to cover ball, rough is long enough to lose ball.
Greens fairly fast and sand shows recent hollowtining.
Great Course.
Quite a challenging course, especially first time round. Hope it'll be in as good condition next time - definitely going back for more!
Great course slow tounds
Played this twice in 7 days , first round started fine group in front let us play through and took 1.45 for first nine , back nine was horrendous 2.40 .
I thought it would be a one off , nope , second round took 4 hours to the 13 , we walked off , need a marshal to keep play flowing , other than that good course in good condition,
Reigate Hill - a star for the cash
For the cash this course in the summer is a gem.
Greens were great - very fast - had 8 birdie putts but didn't sink one :-(
That's more my putting distance and speed Mis-calculations!!
Only course issue is some of the bunkers - had heavy rain a few days ago and they really should have been sorted by now - some still full of water . I did go in 2 and had to take relief to the nearest point within the bunker.
Others without water should have been raked so the sand can attempt to dry.
No half way house as such, pro shop and bar cross so i suppose a drink and snack could be got very quickly.
All in all a great deal and good test of putting skills - I think the course won on this occasion. I need to play more !!
Very nice course, even though many of the trees are not yet fully developed each hole is different and interesting. If you drive the ball a long way it is quite a short course but bunkers and water well positioned. The greens are well designed and were immaculate. Paid £20 mid week which was great value for money
Great course
Course in great condition, greens a great challenge
Great course / Slow play
The course layout was great and fun with well looked after greens.
Was a 2 ball with a buggy and took us 4hrs 30 to finish 18 holes! Ridiculous! Fortunately, we weren't in a rush. However, ended up waiting for a 3 ball on nearly every hole and they refused to offer us to play through even though they were fishing balls out of the rough every hole - put it down to lack of knowledge of the game and etiquette
