Found the lady in the shop very friendly and helpful and as we hadn’t visited Richmond Park before she handed us a very useful course planner. Found the overall layout of the course excellent however there were issues with some of the tees that were a bit unkempt and in need of some tlc. Found the fairways ok but the greens even though they looked good ran true but slow. The best feature we found of note were the trees on the course really framed the holes beautifully and you really had to be careful not to bring them into play as there were plenty of them !! The tee shot on the 18th is a huge test as the trees, and cross ditch are very imposing.especially as the captain’s charity fine involves pretty much every hazard going including the dreaded 3putt!!!!
Wet and windy
It was a wet and windy day, when we arrived at midday the pro shop was closed,no one to see to book in.
The course is hard to find your way around no directions to where the next tee box is etc.
The course overall is not to bad ,some challenging holes .
I would recommend a game but please just sort out the tee signs
Played this course for the second time /I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a challenge some very tricky holes? Recommend recommend very good value for money .
Enjoyed the course but £30 is definitely too much. The green condition was very good and they ran true. The fairways were decent although fairly brown and a little bare in patches. My issue would be the bunkers. Very poor quality of sand and inconsistent I felt. Also for the price I would expect they would be a little more cared for. (I.e. The edges tidy etc). There are some really interesting holes that require thought. You definitely can't just thump the driver on every hole. There is a premium on accuracy on a lot of tee shots. I really liked the wooden buildings/cabins on site. I think it would be a nice place to stay and play. I would play again but not at that price.
Arrived to a friendly welcome at the office, the course was in good condition for the time of year,a little tricky to play for the first time with a few doglegs and unsited greens although a layout was on the tee, nice course would play again.
Good Friday golf
Very cold breezy day, course was in great condition, our golf was good and bad
This course has mature trees now which are a challenge.
The course is in great condition for this time of year.
