Nice local cheap course

Completely different course now the weather as changed.
Only criticism would be to many players don’t repair the greens which is the the only thing that lets the course down. Their still playable though and it’s more the players etiquette than the course or staff that is to blame.
Overall all the course is spot on now and will be playing it regular through the summer

Huge improvement since winter

This is the third time playing Rother Valley since Jan, i returned this week to try it out in better conditions than in Jan and March as im thinking of becoming a member here. The course is the best iv known it be in years. My only concern with becoming a memeber is the winter as it gets really boggy.
The club house is great the staff are great, i hear they are considering upgrading the driving range to a Trackman range. If so that would really put it on the map.

Fantastic value

The course is in the best condition I’ve seen it in, features varied challenges and some very interesting holes. For under £20 you really can’t go wrong

Not worth the money

I've played here for quite a few years now on and off as me and my friends like to play different courses.
So the positives: I love the course layout and you can pretty much gaurentee there's a tee time available whenever you like.

The downsides for me are:
1. The bunkers, the majority and pretty much unplayable, they either don't have enough sand in them i.e clay, or they have stones in
2. The greens, there are a few greens which are really bad in terms of pitch marks and tyre tracks (from motorcycles)
3. The cost, the increase in cost recently for me just doesn't quite justify the above when compared to other courses
4. In winter it can be extremely boggy

I will return if my mates want to play but for me personally it will be through gritted teeth as the course overall just isn't up to scratch.

Lovely course and played well

Course in great condition, green keepers were present and I would recommend. I took my son for his first 18 holes. Even though it is hilly he loved it and is a great challenge for all levels.
Staff were welcoming and polite.
I will definitely be coming back
Thank you

Great fun

Challenging layout, very up and down. Every hole different. Greens didn't look great but played ok.

Wet, too wet.

Was looking forward to this round but was ultimately disappointed by my golf and the state of the course. In my opinion, I'm not sure it should have been open as it was saturated, with mud around all narrowings. Very slippy in places too.
Given the last 2 years I can see why on a bank holiday an opportunity to generate income was taken though. The course is a decent layout and I'm sure on another, dry, day it's a better spectacle and better state too.
Can't fault the facilities there, the range is good, the clubhouse sociable and bar staff nice too, just need another opportunity to see this course in drier conditions.
