Royal Ascot Golf Club

I have played R.A. quite a few times and it is always in good condition, but they have really upped their game this year.

Weather has been poor for a long time now and most courses are struggling/ resorting to temp greens and mats whereas the course here was immaculate when we played. Greens had just been ironed too so we're a very respectable speed and ran true.

Fantastic value for the price

There were too many temporary greens in place which should have been made known to people when booked. We would not have played if we had known.
Some of the club members jumped a few holes cut in front of is to avoid these holes.
Not happy.

The course is a gem with a great layout and the best greens in the area. The club members are spectacular and treat guests as part of the club. Not a real showplace but a real treat for a golfer from the US. I will e back!

Due to a computer error between GolfNow system and club system, time had been double booked. The Pro was really helpful and apologetic, and asked some members if I could join their group. They were great fellas - friendly, helpful and good fun. The course is in really good condition considering the recent weather, with some challenging and thought provoking holes. Highly recommended, will certainly be back, and thanks to the guys who let me tag along in their regular game.

Except for the hollow-tired greens the course was in very good condition.

I played this course with my two sons last weekend, despite some disappointment when I arrived to see that it was not the course I played years ago within the confines of the race track - I was open minded and after a superb breakfast and some excellent service by everyone in the clubhouse, from Pro Shop to Bar Staff we went out and played 18 holes and really enjoyed the course and the day in general. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending others to play here in the future. Well done to all concerned on the day, even the Captain spoke to us, and the only slight downside was the speed of play of some of the people on the course, but, we cannot legislate for those that are always waiting on shots when obviously incapable of reaching the group in front of them!!

Generally a great course, well cared for, nicely presented, good pace of play and a fair challenge.
Only criticism is 14, 15, 16 a bit similar and quite tightly packed.

3 stars for condition but not their fault. Very very dry conditions, so not really their fault.

Nice course: the greens and tee boxes are in good nick. The clubhouse is great for a beer after the round and the pro shop is stocked with everything you’d need.
Massive downside were the members.. super aggressive on numerous occasions. Demanding to know how much my friend and I paid for our round, and laughing about how they pay £2k per year for membership and were better than us. Really confrontational and unwelcoming. No shouts when their stray shots came close to landing on us.. we were also shouted and sworn at by a separate group for no apparent reason! Slow play by very arrogant members.
WOULD AVOID. I won’t be booking on again.

The friendliest course around. Shame about the greens. Poor for this time of year.
