Rye Hill Golf Club - Championship Course

Looked after fairways , tee boxes and greens need a bit of TLC, greens would be great will they were looked after a bit more.

Played with 3 others. Handicaps ranging from single figures to low twenties. Was a good test for us all. The course is quite hilly. Scenic holes are on the back 9. Course was in good condition. Greens were firm and rolling. We were well looked after by the club manager who also opened the kitchen an hour and a half early to make up some sandwiches for us. Will go back there next time we are in the area!

This course is great value for money. No waiting on the tee box, luscious, wide fairways. Decent, challenging greens.

First time playing at this course. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Had a chat and a laugh with the lady on the desk. Great customer service. Course was brilliant. Lots of different challenges especially with the wind. Ground keepers were doing some work around the course but got out the way when needed. Greens were difficult to read but that’s expected when they were doing work ready for summer. Would defiantly play again. Lovely course and lovely staff

I played Rye Hill for the first time today and wish I'd tried it sooner! What a fabulous position it's in. Great course with plenty interest and challenge.

Ignore the reviews about the greens. They've been spiked and dressed and I found them to be good.

Staff couldn't have been friendlier.

Bunkers currently GUR which is standard. Got round in 3hrs 20mins. All in all a good day out at this time of year.

Interesting course layout with some nice holes and great views, pace of play was fine as we weren’t stuck behind anyone, nice clubhouse and seating area outside.

The quality of the course itself was a big let down, some of the greens are worse than your local municipal, tee boxes scruffy and bunkers looked like they hadn’t seen a rake in years.

I think this has the potential to be a great course, shame that it’s in such poor condition.

Very disappointing visit there, the greens were awful no bunkers in play. It appears that no one cares about this course , they maybe have no money to keep it up. Shame!

Great course. Good condition, especially the greens! Tee boxes were a little scruffy on some holes but nothing too concerning. Really enjoyable round, exceptionally friendly staff and a great location! Back 9 is a great setup with some amazing driving holes mixed in with some tough, long par 4s! Looking forward to playing again soon.

A decent course, hampered by the recent hot weather. Overall well kept and maintained, and whilst the front 9 is a little unexciting, the back 9 is a little more interesting. Very good value for money!

Challenging course when the wind is up which it was when we played. Some really nice holes on the course.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, had a good chat with the guy in the bar.

Only negative was the course was lacking signage for new players.

Course layout was not bad, skips around between the 3 sectors of the course, at 6th, 11th.
11th to 18th holes most stylish, others bit plain
Relatively open course with little rough stuff.
Better for beginner or high handicap player.
Tees not flat, greens slow, bunker sand sparse and poor quality.
Having said all that, enjoyed playing here, but score sufferred because of condition.
Bit of care and work on course could improve playability and enjoyment.

course was good but the greens could do with some work. Bunkers are very poor not much care in the preperation.
