course needs attention!
Greens infested with crab grass and bare spots. Fairways have many sprinklers leaking causing muddy conditions. Not nearly enough water coolers, rough needs mowing badly!
overall, a disappointment
Great scenery along with challenging golf
Played Quicksand GC this past weekend after a lot of rain Friday & the course drained real well. Fairways are in good shape as were the greens...some undulation & average speed. It has improved since I played it last, don't overlook this course if in Wimberley & not wanting to shop with the wife.
Nice course, Very tight fairways
You had better hit the ball pretty straight on this course, tight fairways and house's in play on almost every hole. really nice though !!! greens were in very good shape and pretty fast. overall really nice course !!!!
Great set up and well maintained
My only concern that with the weather being so hot they should make drinking water available on every hole. If they do not want to provide water for the golfers then don't post signs about bringing in coolers with outside beverages.
A Great Round Of Golf
It was a great day on the course. The staff are very helpful and the cart was in good order. The course overall was in great shape for a time with little rain.. Well maintained. The greens are hard. I think they are tiff and are challenging.. I have played this course several times and always forget that the greens are challenging. Give it a visit... you should have a great time! Lost of shade to park under as well making it even a better summer time course!
Challenging
The course isn't long but with the dog legs, narrow tree lined fairways and small greens you'll find it challenging to say the least. Due to the elevations several holes play much longer than the actual distance on the card.
As hot as it is, the fairways and greens are groomed and in great shape. They probably take care of their fairways as good or better than the other courses.
Staff are friendly and helpful and the pace of play moves along nicely.
Good course for a great price
This course was great! Some holes were under construction and the sprinklers on 2 holes came on during my twilight tee time. My other issue with the course (which has been mentioned) is that water was only available at 2 holes when more was promised. Other than these gripes, this is a well-maintained course and is a great value for the money (I played a 18$ twilight time). When I went, the young man working the course was nice, but I have heard complaints about a certain staff member.
Course is in great shape considering the Texas drought.
Beware Golfnow users! If you or a buddy decides to book a tee time Quicksand at Woodcreek, make sure to print enough copies of your confirmation for all players involved. A certain older gentleman at the course (let's just call him Mr. Friendly) will NOT honor the confirmation number alone when the person who booked the tee time is suddenly unable to make it. According to Mr. Friendly, there is no way for them to see who has booked a tee time using Golfnow until the individual or group shows up to the course. I find this a little hard to believe, and hope that it will be corrected in the future. So, if you book using your phone, even if it's last minute and on the way to the course, make sure you can print a copy from the printer in your car.
Course in great shape,
The course was in great shape. No phone number on website so don't try to call. Would have gotten a better tee time if I had been able to call.
Needs attention
Prob 3/ 4 of the tee boxes were bare dirt. The posting at the pro shop said there was drinking water on about 5 holes. Only found 1 on the front and one on the back that had water. All the others were empty of missing. Got behind 3 4somes of extremely bad folders that refused to let me (single) play through. I've been wanting to play the courses since I live in Kyle, ill stick to plum creek and Roy kizer from now on.
Excellent afternoon play!
We really enjoy the peaceful serenity of the neighborhood. Open fairways, good grass and regular amenities this course has to offer.
Good course. A lot of variations.
We are novice golfers and enjoy this course. I usually play w/ my sons, dad, and clients. It's a good time for the money. Plenty of trees and other obstacles outside the fairways.( which is usually where I am!) other players are usually patient and courteous if your rate of play is slower. We do usually let 1 or 2 groups play thru. Good course, I recommend it for the money.
Played at a discount, would not pay full price
The tee boxes were not well-maintained, but the fairways were decent, and the greens were in good condition (though they'd been punched recently). The cart paths were cracked and broken, but that didn't worry me too much. The most important thing to take away from this course is that the course weaves between houses in a neighborhood, so if you miss the fairway, you'll likely end up in someone's yard, or in a high-grass wooded area where it'll be nearly impossible to find your ball. I ended up getting a deal on GolfNow for $12 green fees (including cart), so I can't complain too much, but I wouldn't pay the regular green fees to play here.
The course is tight and challenging
Course needs to have water jugs out on the course. The jug holders are there but no water jugs inside. Greens in Good Shape.
Great value.
The course was in great shape for a Texas course. The pro shop employee is less than courdial. The restaraunt took 30 min. at the turn for a couple of sandwiches and a hot dog. Definately call from #8 tee box if you're going to eat something at the turn.
It was worth the drive from San Antonio
A pleasant surprise the course was in good shape played in just under 4 hours. The price was great and the staff was helpful. We will go back soon!
One of the Best!
This course is Green and Soft! Aside from Vaaler Creek this is the best course I have played this year. The challenge increases as the tees go back. The tips are not really long but you will find yourself having to hit a "Golf Shot" to stay in play off of the tee. The down sides are there is no range and all of the tee boxes need work which is strange because the rest of the course gets plenty of water. Make the trip. It's worth it.
for the money via Golfnow it is a great value. fairways and greens in great shape.
this course is 5 minutes from where i live so very convenient currently the course is somewhat wet. don't know if its because of over watering since we haven't had much rain. very difficult to reserve one player on Golfnow. this course is a "block call" according to Golfnow meaning they can't contact them directly.
