Boxing Day treat
Brilliant day out to say the time of year the course was in great condition, only two temporary greens and apart from a few fairways was relatively dry the greens where In great condition be it a little fast .
Club house very nice had a bacon butty and a coffee nice pro shop .
Overall a very enjoyable day !
Course in great condition
It was a lovely day and enjoyed our golf. Just a little too late going out as we didn’t finish last two holes as very dark and couldn’t see our balls. It was a treat for my husbands 75th birthday.
Regards
Sandra Crow
Overnight rain. No problem
Enjoyable course with wide fairways. Heavy overnight rain hardly affected the course except for waterlogged bunkers. The course always drains well.
Never Disappoints
This is the 5th time we've visited here this year and we have an 80 mile round trip to play. Occasionly the pace of play is slow ish, but we usually play in a two ball so I guess it's to be expected now and then. Other than that the course is great, a good test, nice surroundings and well presented.
Best course around North Yorkshire
Middle of September great fairways and awesome greens Water hazards and plenty of bunkers (well kept) hope to go back really soon.
Nice and easy but not worth the cost
Very forgiving course with wide fairways and well kept greens that were true.
Expensive for visitors given what the course is. Not much humour from the grumpy guy in the pro shop and £5 for the handle to an old trolly was exploitation. Worth a try but I wouldn’t rush back.
Always Enjoy Sandburn
Other than the pace of play we had a great day. The course is in great condition, albeit the greens whilst being quick and true are a little firm. Played here quite a few times and will certainly return
Societies and Pace of play
Played in a two ball, and I should say straight away the course was excellent, dry fairways good greens, challenging enough course. So from the course perspective everything was great. However we got stuck behind a 'society' of 4/5 4 balls, that would not be an issue except they could not play and would not let us through. They should not have been on a course of this length. In the end it took us close to 5 hours to get round, which spoilt a good day ! My tip is avoid Mondays at sandburn when the cheap deal is on as it is more likely to attract these type of players.
Excellent course well recommended
Played for first time. Course excellent fairways like carpet and greens super
Price value
Generous fairways gives you a good opportunity. to score well.
The biggest challenge is the wind factor as Sandburn Hall is very a open to the elements course.
To me it's a very American layout course, if you have a good long game it gives you a great chance to score well.
I posted 76 on the par 72 with the wind factor adding more difficulty.
Sandburn Hall
Great course for the price we paid
Speed of play was good, greens had been treated a few weeks before and were a little bumpy but fairways in great condition.
Some good holes but a few are pretty similar.
Always nice to play Sandburn Hall
Nice on the first 9, but some rain on the back 9. Still playable but some areas were very wet.
The course is nice, open and clear so very forgiving for average players.
