Quality course that never disappoints
This is my 4th time playing here, and was always going to be my venue of choice for my 1st round of the year.
The course was in great shape and the greens were fantastic. The front 9 round the lakes was a little slow as the 4 ball in front were playing like they were competing on the PGA, but once we got on to the back 9 of the woods it was really good pace.
Have loved playing this course every time I visit an will continue to do so, not even the freak snow shower yesterday could have put me off.
Fantastic course but allow 6 hours!
Great course. Booked to play and was told we were playing parks and woods 18.
Before there was what looked like a society on all morning which were running behind and meant the s and two groups before we’re teeing off 20 mins late and preceded to queue at each hole.
The course was in great condition considering coming out of lockdown and beginning of may but with the layout especially of the course not and easy one to navigate when busy as many hills where you are not sure if the group infront have cleared.
Considering there are 27 holes it seems everyone was booked on the same 18 and feel the club could of done better to share the load onto all courses on a busy day.
Would definitely come back but wouldn’t risk a twilight round as you won’t get round 18
Wow! Great!
First time we've played there, what an amazing course! Great condition!
Interesting and challenging picturesue course.
Will definately come back. Great halfway hut. Friendly pro. 27 holes. Good value and a decent pace. Only negative was the Lakes 9 had just scarrified the greens which 3 days after lockdown seemed to be just poor timing but still enjoyed and would recommend.
Great, challenging and well maintained course
Really enjoyed our visit to this course. The Park course is decent, open fairways which give you a margin for error. Greens had been recently treated but ran true. The Wood 9 holes were really interesting, greens were perfect and it was a pleasure to play. Pace of play was excellent. Only downside was covid restrictions meant limited hospitality but this is not their fault. Will definitely be back in the Summer.
First Class
Sandford Springs always delivers a quality golf experience.
Love the course layout, the staff and the facilities are top notch
I would 100% recommend this venue.
Denied my post Lock Down Round
I had booked a round for an 11:40 tee off - Paid £40.
When I got there they told me I had been moved to an 11:12 tee Off because the course was so busy.
I was unfortunately unable to time travel that day - so missed out on my round, lost £40 and had an awesome 1hr 20min drive back to Hertford.
1st Day back from Quarantine in England
Looking for a course to play on the first day back after quarantine in the UK was always going to be difficult. I chose Sandford Springs as its reasonably local and generally a good course. It was full, so a bit slow for a 2-ball; but course in excellent condition. Much fun
Good course greens not fantastic but it was the first day back and all things considered it wasn't in bad nick, little bit of confusion due to Covid related protocols but to be expected
