Unpretentious Golf
Very nice lady in the Clubhouse who checked us in, took our breakfast order and then went and cooked it! Needless to say she also served us drinks after the round.
Course is not spectacular but was in good condition. Not busy sot we had a relatively quick round. An enjoyable birthday outing for my golfing partner who wanted to relive his younger days!
Basic but nice
Bearing in mind the recent storm , the course was in good condition and the greens were very good for the time of year
Leafy Course
So many leaves on the course it was impossible to find our ball, water locked greens on some holes and puddles on the fairways... but paid the same price I do when it's in great condition in the summer...
Decent for the price!
Played this on the hot deals offer of £16 each, and was pleasantly surprised by the conditions of the greens: neatly cut, well kept and with a fair amount of pace considering the weather conditions. Only issue for us was the number of leaves, but that comes with the autumnal conditions!
Course plays quite short (5200 off yellows), but was a great challenge with lots of tight fairway shots down free-lined fairways.
Played with a friend who is just a beginner, so it’s a suitable course for all levels.
Cant give zero stars
Absolute rubbish. Tees have trees overhanging them. Fairway is just as long as the rough.greens havent been cut.greens covered in leaves. Holes full of leaves.due to rain some holes closed(not clubs fault) however absolutely no signage to direct you to next playable hole. No point telling people some backward holes to play when they have never played the course before. Walked off after 5 holes as it was just pointless walking about trying to figure out where the next hole is. Oh and dont bother using the website or golf now app to locate this club as both post code and location(according to website) will take you off to solar panel farm off the A419. Cant even get there own location right. Zero stars. Would rather spoon out my eyeballs with a rusty fork than play here agsin.
Good value
Great course for beginners. Some challenging holes but not particularly long. Course in great condition given the price paid.
This course has great par 5s
The course was awesome had lovely greens and always nice and peaceful able to enjoy the course and its surroundings would highly recommend as was brilliant for price would definitely go again
Nice course, good value, confusing layout
At £12 this was a good value round on an attractive, mainly parkland course. More challenging holes outside the park. Good greens. Found the course layout confusing, especially where faiways cross one another. Signage and a better course map would help.
Poor
To be perfectly honest I was so astonished by the conditions of the course it was amazing. All the tee boxes were uncut and rock solid with plenty of mud but no grass.
The greens were genuinely horrendous and one green in particular had so many holes on it, it was a joke.
I’ve been a member of so many different golf courses and I located Shrivenham today due to a friend and it is the worst corse I have ever played on.
Drive for show, putt on dough
Course let down by poor greens. A nice course, maybe a bit more signage needed between some holes as walks are quiet long.
Greens were very slow and bobbly. Looked like they hadn’t had a cut for a day or two.
Course could do with a sprinkle of water.
Toilets were clean. Only saw one member of staff when we checked in and she was very pleasant.
Overall this course has great potential but needs a bit of TLC.
Shrivenham Golf Good value Basic
The course was packed when we visited. The fairways were ok, but the greens were rough.the layout is ok but a lot of cross over between fairways. Before Covid we were paying £14 now £ 20+. The course needs the business and it was an enjoyable day.
Budget Course
Ideal for golfers that want to rock up with mates, not adhere to any dress code and play in 5 or 6 balls. This is a budget course that should not be charging £28 a round. That being said there are some interesting holes that provide a good challenge. I would play again but would not pay more than £15 a round.
Good course
Good course with some challenging holes greens are good, the fairways are a bit close together and cross sometimes but overall will be back again.
Great value for money
I only paid £11 for this round and that’s fantastic value for money. It’s not a great course, but it’s a good course. I would recommend it for high handicappers like me (22) but people below 20 would find it to easy. It’s a short narrow course, with a few too many crossover tees for my liking. Too many places where you have to watch out as you tee off. But all things considered l, a good day out
