Slaley Hall Hotel & Golf - Priestman Course

Play here a few times a year, always seem to get slow play with the groups in front of me.
Nice place to play, course was it's usual good standard and greens where good.

The greens were absolutely fantastic but tee boxes were rough and crusty. However I think that this is only due to the very hot weather and is understandable.
The rough or ‘hay’ as we were calling it was ridiculous. Surely enough punishment is 6 inches of rough whereby you have to just hack out. But this stuff is a guaranteed loss of a ball. We were lucky as the course was quiet but can see it being a very long round of busy. As a previous member I did bring this up. But they must have an economic reason as it will be getting bailed soon. Very disappointing. Also a half pint of Pepsi in the golf bar costs £4!!! A great set up but they let themselves down

Played course early on Saturday morning. Had a 2 ball and 3 ball infront. New golfers but round lasted 5 hours 35minutes and not let through. Spoiled an otherwise fantastic course in brilliant conditions.

I played this course in good weather, if a little breezy. It’s a long test but fairways are wide enough and I played irons off a few tees as conditions were firm and the ball was running a long way.
The course was in good shape although a lack of rain had led to a couple of greens being a little bare. There was nobody in front so I was able to walk around in just under 3 hours.
I had a bite to eat afterwards in the clubhouse. The food was good and staff friendly.
I’d recommend this place for a good day out

Great course always a pleasure to play there would like a wind free day if possible but fantastic course and top class greens

Good course played awful and got soaked on the 13 th but still enjoyed it

Course in great condition. Views amazing. Staff at club house really helpful and friendly.
Would recommend using a buggy if you can get one as hilly in places.

Overall the course was in pretty good condition, overall many bunkers badly need attention.

It’s almost a shame to play such a nice course in the summer for summer prices when it’s just as good in the winter. Both courses too notch and always in good condition all year round

The course was playable but wet!
A few bunker lakes and a few puddles on fairways. Probably to be expected for winter golf, but you would a European tour venue would have slightly better drainage in place.
Good day out none the less and came off 3 and 2 victors!
