Windy and open
Very open course on a very blustery day. Lovely course and will definitely be back to play it on a nicer day.
Great condition
Have always found southern valley to be in good condition whatever the weather but at the moment it really is in great shape. They’ve obviously looked after it well during lockdown.
Beautiful greens!
Compared to some local courses the greens are in superb condition.
Great Winter course
Southern Valley, is a pretty straight forward course to navigate. Links style, sitting close to the River. However if it's windy it can turn it into a bit more of a challenge. For the winter months this is one of the best courses around, as it drains well & they're able to stay open, when others have to shut.
Great condition
Considering the rain we had over the last few weeks the course was remarkable. It was like playing in the summer! Coming from my own course which is pretty wet, it was a joy to play. The sky was blue for the last day of play before the second lockdown. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.
Same can’t be said for GOLFNOW.
Initially I needed to cancel for which they say to ring customer service.
I tried for several hours but the phone was never answered. My partner couldn’t play for a COVID reason.
It all worked out in the end as the club was so helpful and I played on my own. In future I will deal directly with clubs.
Holes 11 to 15 and,17 saw us almost leaning into very strong winds. A real challenge for any golfer. Other than that, the layout was just challenging enough for our standard. A very enjoyable afternoon!
Always a good bet
Course in good condition but dry , just one poor tee box, think it was the 12th or 13th. Greens in nice nick and an enjoyable course to play.
Lady in the pro shop very blunt ....
1st round
Took my son for his first round so arrived a little early so he could have a bit of time on the putting green after always visiting driving ranges.
He absolutely loved it and think he is hooked already.
Great open course for beginners with plenty of variety but still challenging.
Good Links style course
Quite a short course but when the wind picks up it can become quite challenging. Great views and a shame that it's going to be knocked down for the new Thames Bridge. Would recommend this to fans of Links courses, as it has that feel about it, being open and exposed a bit to the conditions. Course in great condition. Staff friendly, decent amenities. Offers a different challenge for those who like to play different style courses
