Not great

First time playing, unfortunately I probably wouldn’t play again. Greens in poor condition, slow with weeds on, fairways also not great. Front nine holes tightly packed into the race course center, and very flat. Back nine is better once out into the countryside. Much better courses around for the same money.

Great course

Warmly greeted and was given a real good insight into the course and tips as we were first timers. Staff were really friendly and proper looked after us.

Course was in great condition. Front 9 inside the race course has many water hazards. Fairways were immaculate. A couple of greens were a bit wet in places.

Back 9 has a lot of trees and challenging greens. Any wayward drives punished. Fairways were in great nick (not that I found many of them).

Lovely pint and very friendly staff afterwards. Highly recommend.

Unusual. Course

1st 9 holes crammed into a very tight space but playable. Back nine was a nice parkland layout. Weather was awful but that’s the chance you take at this time of the year. Pro shop and clubhouse staff were very good

Lovely little course

I've played here twice now and have enjoyed it both times. It's a short course in terms of length but still challenging especially for an average golfer like me. The members and staff are super friendly and I enjoy the layout of the course. The greens need a bit of work but the fair ways are in great condition. What I like about this course is the back 9 is completely different to the front 9 which makes this course enjoyable, varied and challenging. Overall great value for money and I will definitely visit again.

Poor condition course

The course had no consistency to it, some greens, fairways and tee boxes were in good condition and some were in awful condition And for a twilight round there are plenty better alternatives for the same price especially when so many courses are in amazing condition this time of year

Unusual and unique

I really enjoy playing this course, for me the layout is unusual in that the front 9 and the the back 9 are so completely different it’s like playing 2different golf courses . Holes 1-9 are in the confines of the middle of Southwell race course and then 10-18 are through the adjacent woodland. Stt tee add are always friendly and other golfers playing the course are too so give it a try if you fancy something a little different and very reasonable on price.

Great day out

Lovely course, well presented and two different challenges with two very different halves …. The first 9 compact with water hazards and the second 9 longer and more woodland. A must if you fancy a change or something different.

Good course

It was a very good course, the pro shop attendant was fantastic and very helpful for our first time going there
The course was in a reasonable condition and you could see they was sorting the tees out on a few holes, only downside I noticed there was alot of sand on the back 9 greens to the point it was stuck to the ball
They offered plenty to drink and eat in the bar, with beers and soft drink, aswell as cobs, sausage rolls, pasty and soup in the morning, and the afternoon they had fresh cooked meat available for hot cobs aswell
