Fairways & greens in very good condition, lots of carry! Rough was a bit rough. Lovely sunny day, hardly a another soul playing; enjoyable round.
I always prefer this course in winter!
It’s a great little course but plays very different in summer to winter. It’s hilly so quite hard to get good value for good shots in the summer when the ground is firm and the ball runs on. If you like a challenge in the summer then I’d 100% recommend! It was lovely and quiet and good value on the day. Green and general course condition was excellent considering how much rain we’ve had in recent weeks. We’ll be back!
Springwater golf club
Staff and members friendly as always making you feel a welcome visitor.
The torrential rain on the 17th could not be blamed on the club.
The greens have been better on previous visits, though it is February
Good course in winter
The course was in good condition given all the bad weather that there had been over the weeks beforehand.
New course for myself and it was a nice layout, plenty of challenges and a good variety on the course.
Nice Course
Course in good condition considering all the bad weather we have had. Two temp greens very wet underfoot but playable. Coffee and bacon sandwich first very good and halfway house for some warming drink. Really enjoyed it thanks.
Great conditions for the time of year
The Course was in great condition for the time of year and the recent downpours. Greens running well and fairly quick for the time of year. The layout is still interesting with some excellent par 3’s. The short game area was quite badly damaged and the driving range has issues with taking coins at times. Pace of play for a Sunday morning as a 4 ball was excellent and well worth a round.
This course is a good one to play
Overall the was really good,& a good test. The greens had been spiked & sanded so putting wasn't the best . They shouldn't have society golf at the weekend as play was very slow
Drainage police
First time we've played the course and both of us commented how well the course looked.
The greens were fast and some were hard to read.
The fairways were forgiving and we'll looked after, good for high handicaps.
The staff in all area's were spot on.
We would and will recommend to give this course a go.
Great days golf
Superb course in great condition. Not long but tricky. Great views and a very fair test
Great golf course!
1st time playing Springwater, after an hours drive i can say for certain id play it again. A real hidden gem this one, good value for money. A lot of blinds holes but overall a fun & well looked after course. Would advise buggies!
Course is in superb condition, greens especially good.
The course is in perfect condition. Greens were the best, the ball really did glide unreally consistent throughout.
Good workout, poor greens
First time here with someone who had been before and said it was "quirky".
Very up and down, my fitness tracker suggested I climbed 42 flights of stairs! After one night of rain, the lower holes were very muddy and care had to be taken to stay on your feet. All greens were in operation, however all tees were on mats, up to 50 yds ahead of the normal tee boxes.
Mats were generally fine, however greens were generally poor - pock-marked (like a herd of deer had run over them). Made putting a bit of a lottery.
Would try it again in the summer, when hopefully conditions are better.
It was cheap (£14) and we were round in three hours as there were few people about.
Very poor condition
Facilities very good with lovely clubhouse but the course is the worse I have seen it in very poor condition. It was like playing on compacted mud in places……
Lovely course
First time i have played the course. Although a very frosty morning course was a joy to play. Some lovely holes. Course looked in good shape for the winter months and great to see that the proper greens were all in use and not winter greens. Will defiently be back in the spring to play again
Course in need of a bit of tlc
A reasonable experience at Springwater for the first time, I have to take in to account that on occasion of this visit all the greens had been hollow tined - However no notice of this on the club website or golfnow at time of booking. This perhaps would have been useful. The course needs a bit of tlc in places, a few bare patches and bunkers needing work but all-in-all an adequate course to play
Let down by the greens
Even allowing for the time of year, the greens badly let down this otherwise enjoyable course badly. A significant number of the greens were almost unplayable, with so many putts being in the hands of the gods.
A real shame, because the layout was enjoyable, with some great views, and the clubhouse and pro shop very pleasant. The bunkers in particular had excellent sand, which is not always the case, even at more expensive clubs.
Last minute choice
Our own course was waterlogged so looked elsewhere to play. Bargain deal booked last minute. Course was in good condition considering heavy rain prior to playing. Happily play the course more often if it was closer.
Springwater
For the time of year the course was in very good condition Greens was in good condition Some very exiting well placed holes Will be going back again
