Last time not great this time wonderful
In good condition and as always friendly
A warm welcome in The Kent sunshine
Blue skies, sunshine and still conditions on a Friday afternoon. My first visit to St Augustine’s. I was made to feel Welcome at the Pro shop. So it’s not the Longest course but it is flat and easy to walk, the greens were excellent and fast and there were ball washers on every tee. It’s a little quirky with some of the holes crisscrossing but don’t let that put you off. For mid to high handicappers this course is enough of a test and the 19 th offers all you need with a smile. I will be back.
Slow Play
Today, we finally gave up at the 10th, having watched so called golfers going around the course in disability carts, spending the best part of 10 minutes looking for a ball, putting out then taking 5 minutes to leave the green we admitted defeat! It was the usual suspects, twice we’ve been caught behind them, this time was enough for us to say no more. No point in complaining, it’s an old boys club, run for their benefit, they block book all the early tee times, we were told today that members will always spend time looking for their lost balls! That tells you all you need to know, so if you’re a golfer who likes to enjoy a steady round of golf avoid at all costs.
Value for money
We played in great weather and whilst short the greens were true and better than some more expensive courses we have played. Great value for the money and a test of your iron play.
Good course for the money, friendly staff, putting green no driving range but a couple of nets to warm up in. Pace of play was a little slow. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Sad
Played here many times and this is the poorest condition i have seen it in.
Greens are extremely patchy with putts jumping all over the place.
Yes the green fee was reasonable, however we expected more.
This was ok for a practice round but not ok if it was for a serious play.
I would go back because it is very local to me and i need the practice!
Very friendly staff and cared for course. Suitable for all golfers
WET & SOGGY
A very good course to play when dry.
Course extremely wet after very heavy rain although very busy. Temporary Greens in operation as most greens unplayable which was not notified before booking and therefore ended game after 9th hole! Hence poor value for money.
Day out
The course is lovely and obviously want to support local clubs to keep them going through difficult times. I found a hot deal at £14 plus £1 commission to golf now. I asked the course if they wanted to match it as they was showing up £18 for that time. Shame they didnt want to match it so had to pay through golf now. Lovely day lovely course not worth £18+ a round though but a nice afternoon one if under £15
Great Venue Stunning Scenery
St Augustine’s was in beautiful condition especially compared with other courses in the area.
Great value, friendly staff and atmosphere ideal for a afternoons golf.
We will be booking and playing Again soon hopefully
IDEAL FOR ALL!
A nice course in good condition especially taking into account the lack of recent rain. Course plays well and greens were good. Other players we met on the course were friendly and considerate. A very pleasant afternoon.
Great Value!!!
For £13 this was pure value for money!!
Yes it’s a short course, yes it’s an open course, but when the wind is blowing as strong as it did when we played it still makes it a test!!
The greens were surprisingly quick (seeing as the practice green was the opposite!) and the fairways were fine!
All in all a very pleasurable round, especially for the price!!
Slow play but enjoyable course
Played the course at the end of one of the wettest Octobers for years. It was in excellent condition considering the weather. The course is quite short which suits my game but with a strong wind coming off the sea was not easy. My only gripe would be the very slow pace of play. I eventually realised a 2-ball was holding everything up including a 4-ball and 2 3-balls.
