Worth a visit - would return
Some tricky holes where driving accuracy, dog legs, and length are key.
Fairways beginning to dry out.
Nice true greens
9th nowhere near clubhouse.
Some new nice big tees being built to extend Some holes.
Lovely patio by 18th Green to relax over a drink afterwards.
Lake balls; 8 for £5 ;)
Nice course
Course was in good condition, fairly busy , small greens and tight course . will definitely play again
Golf
Have not played here for a number of years and thought it was great. The greens although been through preparation were still very good. Overall I enjoyed the course and found it testing in places and would go back.
GETTING BETTER EVERY WEEK
Played Stapleford once a week in the last 5 weeks and the course is maturing all the time. It's a good test because the greens are drying out and you have to think you cant fire at the pins because the ball will not stick. Hard but fair. I love the place.
Very challenging
Most golfers aged over 70 would, I feel, find this course extremely long and tiring. My home course is of demanding length but at Stapleford you have length and difficulty compounded by strategic water, dog legs, hidden water ( not immediately visible ) and restricted tee positions right and left so it helps if you can draw and fade the ball at will. It is however incredibly interesting and could with some work be a candidate for a “championship standard course”. The length of this course is either calibrated correctly and I have been kidding myself or it’s calibrated incorrectly via sat nav !!!
Wet conditions
Reasonable course but extremely wet and mucky should really not have been open.
Enjoyed the course but perhaps one for warmer months.
Brilliant course
First time playing this course. Given the weather we’ve been having I couldn’t fault the condition of the course. Fairways, the rough and greens all top condition
Good job to green team for keeping it top tier
New course
I had only played this course once before and even after all the rain the course was in very good condition and you could still use your trolley when other courses had banned them
