Everything you need
Really enjoyed this course as always, good facilities here with a driving range, putting green and chipping green with large bunker.
Some holes with a bit of thinking but overall a nice steady track.
Tee boxes in great condition considering the time of year with only 1 matt in use. Greens very good.
Great course, snails pace play
Brilliantly laid out course in immaculate condition, with a great driving range and great warm up facilities. Unfortunately the round was spoiled by possibly the slowest play I have ever experienced. Having teed off at 4.09, we reached the 7th tee after 2 hours... It was that bad. Unsure if it was members or a society but the 2 groups in front had no regard for other players on the course. Shall likely not go back having experienced the longest round I've played in Northants (completed the round in just shy of 6 hours..)
Bank Holiday Golf Day
Overall a good experience playing this course with a few friends today. The sprinkler system was not working so the greens did play a little slower than we would of liked and other players were permitted to cut in on the 10th with little consequence. Something for the club to be mindful of.
Thank you
Nice course
General conditions of the course and greens were good for late November. A decent fair test for all standards of player. Will definitely be back again.
Consistently slow course
It's a nice course, well laid out and enjoyable. But, in my experience it attracts folks who clearly rarely play who are slow and don't understand the concept of letting people play through. In my round a 4 ball was 2 groups in front of us. With a fairly tight deadline of fading light 3 groups that caught us up gave up and walked off the back nine knowing they wouldn't complete their rounds. That's not fair! The 4 ball let the group infront of us through on the 17th! Leaving us to watch the numpties play the last as the darkness fell. This is not the first time, in fact I have never got round in under 4 hours on this course.
Nice course.
A nice course, some lovely par 3's only drawback is, If I wasn't playing with some guys who had played before, I would of been lost were to go, not well signposted to next tees, especially when there is such a long walk from 9th to 10th. A nice course would play again.
Enjoyable day
Very nice well maintained course. Challenging, was very busy l suppose such a nice place would be
Staverton park
2 nd time here. Played behind a very slow society. Course in reasonable condition. Needs a bit of tidying up. Think it’s fantastic value Sunday and Monday with the deal they do.
Staverton course
Great course , with wonderful scenic backdrops to some of the holes. Course was tidy, well kept and would definitelyrecommendit.
Excellent course
Best course I've played in a couple of years. Good variety of undulating visually striking well defined holes. Excellent greens.
Pleasant round
The course was well maintained, particularly the greens. Interesting course, with holes requiring thought, not just drive and chip. Very quiet, with no pressure from other players. Great value for money and a superb bacon roll to finish!
Father and son day
My son and I wanted to play a quality course in the local area and when we arrived we were really excited. We went to the 1st tee and there was a line of buggies, a society, all claiming the same tee time as us. They kindly let us tee off in front of them, but we were now rushing down the 1st. The group in front were only just at the green and the society were firing balls at us from behind. 2 hrs 20 later we got to the 9th where we abandoned. The course was clearly overbooked and although set in a spectacular position in gorgeous parkland, the greens are rubbish and it’s generally just rough around the edges. It could be stunning and a really good test of your game. Shame, but we headed back and had a cracking 9 on our local course, so all was not lost.
Poor clubhouse, pace of play
Shocking, pace of play was poor and the clubhouse was closed at 6pm on a Saturday evening
De Vere Staverton
The course layout is good with a nice variation of holes. The fairways are nicely pronounced with the first cut very visible and it looks like two cutter widths wide. The greens are big and are nice surfaces to putt on albeit the slowest greens I have ever putted on and had to really hit the ball hard to get it to the hole. Playing the 10th hole was dangerous, balls from the driving range were constantly coming onto our fairway. More money needs to be spent on more fencing further down the right hand side looking down from the range. Getting a drink afterwards proved difficult and had to wait 45 minutes, looked like they had one person pulling the pints and one waiter. Not sure of the status of whoever owns Staverton, but I feel the place needs some money spent on it as there are one or two tatty areas on the course.
