Friendly people
We played a late afternoon round on a weekend and had the course to ourselves. The pro allowed us to tee off early and he was very friendly. The course is very nice , the first half is short but tricky the second half is less developed and more open. We got around as a 2 ball in just over 3 hours. We finished the round with a coffee in the warm and welcoming clubhouse. The staff and the members were very friendly. We will definitely return.
Fantastic course
This must be the best value for money course there is on GolfNow in the north-east? Very well maintained, fantastic greens, challenging and varied layout, brilliant.
Lovely little course
Great greens, decent challenge, friendly staff, beautiful views. Well worth a visit
Great Value
Course in brilliant condition considering the time of year, not one winter green.
Nice course
The day was spoilt by slow play,3 hours to play 12 holes. Walked off, disappointing.
Great course to play
Stocksfield is a great challenge, with two contrasting 9s, tight and tricky wooded first 9 opens up to a more forgiving back 9, definitely worth playing
Very good
Excellent golf course in great condition. It’s a course of 2 halves with the front 9 playing tight through rows of trees. And the back 9 in more open parkland. So it’s quite challenging for most golfers. It’s also quite a physical course with some steep hills. So maybe for some golfers who find it tough on a hilly course a buggy might be a good idea. The club house is excellent serving a good range of beers and wine. And the food is also very good. The staff are very friendly and the pro is very helpful with a good pro shop selling a wide range of golf equipment and clothing. To sum up it’s a great place to visit for a game of golf and I’ll definitely be back.
Fabulous course condition
This has always been a great course but the on course condition today could only be described as fabulous. This is by some way the best course conditions I have experienced this year by some margin and the green keepers should be applauded for their efforts.
The layout remains interesting, the pro extremely welcoming and the club house facilities great.
My only problem was the pace of play but there were a lot of four balls who could have focussed on playing a little faster.
Overall a great course and everyone should play it.
Great value for money
Cracking course, not too long but some testing holes. Greens & fairways in good condition. Good clubhouse with a great selection of food & drinks. Only downside was the buggies were quite expensive.
Good course in excellent condition
This is a course I have played a number of times and I like the combination of tree lined holes (1-9) and more open parkland for the back nine. It’s challenging without being too difficult. Possibly my favourite course in the area.
Narrow front nine!
I enjoyed this round. The course was testing in the front none; narrow fairways and interesting greens but the back nine opens right up.
The course had suffered from a big downpour the previous day but the greens held up well enough, although there were some boggy areas early on.
Excellent views over the Tyne Valley.
