Money Wasted.

We arrived to be informed that only the front 9 holes were open that the rest was waterlogged and closed. Paying for 18 we were immediately disappointed. To be honest the front 9 was like a bog and should have been closed also. This is the first time I have felt let down by my booking on golf now. I would appreciate a full refund after driving so many miles to be severely let down.
Many thanks.
Thomas Kelly.

Decent municipal

Played for a second time in a week, this time on a Wednesday afternoon. Much better pace of play although there did seem to be a lot of single players who surged through the course, and we let play through. Course was playable even after a lot of rain but with a few large areas of standing water.

Municipal +

Good value for money, a decent challenge for all our party of 4 (some more than others). It was a Saturday afternoon and the pace of play was more than slow. We were behind a golf society group of about 16, a few of whom wanted to explore every inch of every fairway (theirs and everyone else’s) and one of our party had a near death experience picking her tee up after driving off and her head being narrowly missed by a wayward ball! A bit unnerving. All in all a rather tiring 5 hour round!

Communication

On the day of my last round having booked on line was informed that there was an under 18 competition that afternoon.when we arrived. To make matters worse there was a 4ball in front of mixed ability, but insisting that they putted out every hole to record those important eights and nines. The competition started out in twos about 4 holes behind . By the 15 they pushing to the point that we could not play out but just had to walk on.
A bit of information about this would have given us a choice to play or not also the admin side of the course should not of let a 4 ball out so near to the comp for 2balls

Great course

First time I’ve played this course and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s fairly short but is laid out really well with open fairways, manageable rough and some challenging hazards.
Staff were very friendly and clubhouse was very pleasant.
Would definitely recommend and will certainly be playing here again.

Stoneyholme GC July 2022

All greens a tee boxes in fine condition except 4th green with evidence of work or damage. The fairways are quite lush and carry is limited owing to rainfall. It’s a decent short municipal course.

Golf Round

Great day of golf with very good weather. Course was in very good shape and greens were dry and a good pace for putting.
The only issue was the slow play by various groups in front after the 9th hole who took too much time playing their next shot and slow walking between holes.

Really glad this course is open again. We played a few years ago just before it closed and were sad it was closing!
