Had a good play
Flat - easy to walk around
Greens weren’t amazing
Great price and value for money
Staff extremely nice
Players on the course also a friendly bunch
Not too many sand bunkers or woods
A fun nine holes
A great course if you’re looking for a quick, enjoyable, cheap and cheerful half round. This is golf at its most welcoming, least snobby and most accessible. The common grounds mean that there are dog walkers and joggers to dodge but most are keen to avoid getting hit or trespassing on your round. Myself and my son enjoyed a fun nine holes and the course was remarkably dry given the 48 hour downpour that preceded it.
Good days golf but with drawbacks
Considering the time of the year and the amount of rain we have had recently this course always amazes me how well it plays. I dont know what soil its on but the fairways for the most part are pretty dry and very playable. The course is short which suits me but it does require some accurate hitting particularly as most greens are small and there is a lot of heather and goarse around.
The minus side for the course is its built on a common and therefore there are many walkers and dogs to avoid.
Public common with added golf facilities.
The staff was very friendly however this is a public common with los of foot traffic and holes criss crossing public walkway, it was not What I expected. The greens were ok.
Terrible
Without doubt, the worst course I have ever played in 52 years of golfing! Terrible ‘fairways’, useless signage and very odd layout - some danger in parallel fairways. Never, never again
STINKER
Basically a park. People sitting on “fairways” sunbathing and having a picnic. Dog Walkers everywhere. Families cycling across your path as your driving. Wouldn’t go back if you paid me.
Great place to play
Really enjoyable course to play. They now serve beers from the clubhouse as well as the 5th hold being next to a lovely country pub where the locals like to sit outside and cheer you on as you tee off.. Very social and friendly - I'll come again
Friday Afternoon Round
Golf course is basic but priced right for what it is. We enjoyed our round, make sure you pick up a map at the start. I would recommend.
Thanes Ditton and Esher
A friendly club run by enthusiasts
It’s in good condition and is a testing course
Common land so golfers have to be sympathetic to members of the public
The members and staff are friendly and helpful and I really enjoy playing the course.
Great place to go especially when most courses are not extending a welcome
Top Links Challenge in the middle of Surrey
Nice to see this old course on its way back !
Tight links lies and small greens protected and good value for money
Tough finishing stretch
A challenge on the signature Railway hole whether playing the 8th or 17th and a 4 up the last is no gimme!
A fool and his money

Please contact me via the club please. 02083981551. After all our effort and hard work on a course we lease from the council and a clubhouse also leased, your video on YouTube is not helpful to our business, it’s full of assumptions and errors, and give the complete wrong impression. The vast majority of recent player feedback is positive, of course there are some negative comments. We can also talk about map reading tips and the signage on the course. Not impressed.
