Tough little course with some challenging par 3 holes. Shame about general public walking all over course early morning with dogs running everywhere... Fairways are average to say the least but the greens are good.
Good course but does not reflect in cost
The course itself is very well kept and has very good greens but being in a public spot does not justify the cost as when you consider how much more private moors valley is and is a lot cheaper
Not Impressed
Had to play with two other people a man and woman was never told about this , there were lots of temporary tees and greens, had to pay £32 for the round in winter time which I’ve never payed that in the height of summer on this course total rip off for the condition of the course..
Good greens but that's it.
I've played here a few times over the years but always ended the round saying never again. It's basically a park with 18 greens on it.
Dog walkers and people out enjoying the sunshine on every hole (which I appreciate is their right) but it's hard to justify the cost due to the public access. There are much better courses available...
Nice layout
Nice course. Good layout. Good greens. Fairways very bare but I know after last summers extended dry spell a few other local courses struggled so hopefully that will change soon.
Would definitely recommend.
Good value
Some lovely holes, greens are good, fairways as you would expect dry and bouncy following the summer we've had. In comparison to those close by good value for money.
good course poor condition
Course was good, but the condition of fairways and greens was poor. I was also led to believe that there were great views of Bournemouth, which was not the case
Good green poor course
This course was like a really poor municiple with entirely to many dog walkers who have no clue that the golfers are there I had to move my ball twice due to dog poo on the course I will not be going back £32.00 around is about £30.00 too much
Very disappointed
Have played this course many times before and am normally happy with the general condition of the course. It was only after I had paid online and turned up that I was told of some maintenance going on. The greens had been hollow tined (most courses are closed whilst this severe maintenance takes place) however, these greens were awful. they had been sanded and on some of the greens there was at least a cm of sand, which made them unplayable. Also the green keepers were brushing the greens whilst the holes were still in play, and thus forced you to not be able to finish the hole. The worst example of this was when we played the 17th and had to walk off the hole as the green was being brushed.....so teed off on the 18th only for the green keeper to drive past us on the fairway and immediately start brushing the 18th green forcing us to not be able to finish. To top it off we had to pay full twilight price and only completed 13 holes. This course clearly prioritises conning people out of money over providing golfers a course they are able to play. I advised this to a colleague who has now pulled a society competition away from the course. I did complain at the time, but just got told to read the terms and conditions when I book ! Your priorities are very disappointing Meyrick.
Perfect greens
It was a pleasure to play Meyrick Park today, the greens were great and the pace of play very good.
Great if you like dog walkers and animals
Stupid inconsiderate dog walkers ruined this round they was on most holes from 2-14 when I finally had enough and walked off won't return especially when clubhouse wanted to charge £22 when round was on here for £20 if in Bournemouth go else where I will be next time I return
Great course in need of rain
first time at the course found the layout challenging had to think about each hole the fine hot summer has killedthe fairways sure when the rain returns it will be be better for all levels of golfer
See you again soon
Greens
The course is normally great, unfortunately the greens had just been sanded, we should have been informed of this before we turned up to play! Would not have played there if we had known the condition of the course.
Meyrick Park
Have played this course many times and thoroughly enjoy it, a great challenge. However, our greatest challenge yesterday was the total lack of knowledge of golf etiquette by Club Members. It's common courtesy for a slow 3 ball to call through a faster 2 ball. We asked to be allowed to play through, only to be told "we don't do that here!"
We waited on every single shot, thanks guys???
Greens are fantastic!!
What a course, I would say one of the best around.
Greens are second to none. Great roll and fairs ways good condition. Can't recommend it enough. Tough though off whites.
Great test of golf
A great test of golf, good par 3s, tight tree lined fairways and the condition of the greens were excellent!
Worth the £22 green fee. Best to play it from March-September otherwise you might be playing a couple of temporary greens.
Well worth a visit.
