Great value for money
I’ve played this course a few times. Lovely layout, wide open course, feels like a championship links course in parts even though it’s set in the middle of the countryside. We’ll worth a visit at the great winter discounted rates.
Don’t eat.....
The actual golf course was in a great condition considering the time of year.
I suggest not to eat anything from the bar. The full English was awful and I had a bacon sandwich to go for my fellow golfer that had mouldy bread. I got the feeling the staff didn’t really care either.
Awesome course
Playing this course for £55 pp is a bargain. That being said, however, I wouldn't pay much more to play a course.
The course is always in stunning condition and playing there is a challenge. As long as you stay on the short stuff, you'll have a great round.
There is a variety of holes, each one challenging in its' own right. The view looking up at the clubhouse from 14/15th hole once the sun starts setting is amazing
Challenging in the wind
Lovely course, we’ll set out and a real challenge especially with the wind we had. Quite forgiving fairways but lots af features and traps to make it a course you need to manage your way around. It is marketed as an inland links, and it really felt like it with the strong winds we had, 2 to 3 clubs but still playable and a real test, thoroughly enjoyed it. The greens had been dressed but otherwise the course in immaculate.
Oxford Beauty
Amazing course and layout, challenging holes in a very pretty setting with good use of water. Only one grip is pace of play. Very very slow, which just put a slight downer on the day.
Good Golf
Great day course in good condition and challenging.
Shame the spike bar quality did not match expectations. Needs a revamp and improved staff training
Links like track
Played on a gloriously sunny day with a light breeze - perfect to enjoy
This vast layout. Love the links type layout.
Downside - bar staff. Waited 45 minutes for 4 Mars bars and 4 beers. After 3 prompts we left. Laughably bad.
Best course I’ve played in golf now
I’ve played around 10 courses in the South-East in golf now and this was the best by a distance. A good challenge and ideal length, plenty of interest including a really fun 17th hole (you have 2 fairways to choose from, split by a large lake). It perhaps could benefit from a few more trees but in a way the open nature is part of its distinctive moor-like look. Enjoy!
Great experience
Everything about the experience was first class - from the initial impression driving up to the clubhouse, the facilities, the design of the course, the pace of play and the friendliness of the staff it was a fabulous day out and I will definitely be back.
Amazing
Great course. Tough,
But great. Put this one on the list. You won’t be disappointed.
Thoughtfully designed.
Most courses I play, the design aspect never really enters my head, but as I sat having a coffee afterwards overlooking the course, it really struck me how much thought has gone into this one from a design point of view. Every possible shot has been thought of, which then creates problems, but also gives you opportunities. Not a lot of punishing rough, but enough water to keep you on your toes!
Very good, and currently a good offer on price.
