The Ridge Golf Club

Challenging course, Tree lined, requires good positioning of tee shots. In process of filling ponds. Club house improvements under way. All in all a good experience.

Adore the layout of the this place. Opportunity to bomb it, demands to place it, and options to shape it. It really does give a thorough, fair and fun test of golf.

One downside was the condition of the greens, although that is a little harsh as they had just undergone necessary seasonal maintenance. So not too concerned there.

The other was some of the members playing the role of a tractor, backing up the dozens of cars gathered behind them but steadfastly refusing to let anyone through. This was despite opening up at 5 hole gap in front of them. We (a 2 ball) were joining them on some tees before they had finished teeing off, but no sign of a wave through at all.

Disappointing behaviour from a few individuals left a stain on an otherwise wonderful course clearly intent on bringing the good times back.

You need to play good golf to score well. Each hole has it's own challenge to be mastered and the challenges are varied throughout the course. Overall an enjoyable experience even though I did not score well.

I chose this course for a client game based on a Friday morning. Evidently the new owners are spending a few quid. Great little course. Super value. Veteran members are a bit slow early on but once we got in front of them it was fine.

A cool dry day but very wet underfoot and muddy. Great course to play and excellent pace of play. Played in spring you get the apple blossom! Happy to play here and good off course facilities, range, putting and chipping area. Did not use the bar this visit.

Challenging course in good condition and good pace of play - Not much more you could want

My friend and I had a lovely day at the Ridge golf club (again)! Starting early with a lovely breakfast and nice coffee then teed off slightly early as there was no one playing right in front or right behind us and it stayed like that all day, so no rush when we did loose the occasion ball! Course is very nice to play, good length course, not to hilly with a nice variety off holes and even tho it’s been so hot and some of the grass is yellow and dry the ground is still surprisingly soft. Then finished of with a nice cold refreshing cider at the bar and sat outside with a nice view! Will definitely play there again and definitely recommend to friends and anyone else looking for a nice course.

The course was in really good condition - particularly the greens - given how much sun / lack of rain there has been recently

New owners are doing a really good job of improving the course

Course has potential but unfortunately the fairways and greens were like playing on concrete. The green couldn't receive a sand iron let alone anything longer. Plus the bunkers also didn't have much sand in them. Alot of the tees could also do with a bit of grass on them.

New ownership and new ideas have made a tremendous difference to this beautiful course and there are many new plans in the offing. Club House and Pro Shop recently refurbished. Good driving range, putting greens and chipping area. Experienced Golf Pro in attendance. Lots of work has been done on the course: new signage, improved greens, clearing of rough areas. Will keep coming back.

One of my favourite course in Kent as it’ is very challenging . nice to see the new owners are making the necessary improvements the previous lost heart and the course became unloved. The course has the potential to be one of the top 5 In Kent and hopefully the new owners can take it to that level.

The weather was not the best but the welcome was warm and friendly. The pro shop was well stocked and the staff were excellent. They gave instructions to get to the first tee and provided me with the day's pin placements. They explained the layout and gave me the code to the changing rooms. I didn't even have to ask.

The tee boxes and fairways are in great nick and the greens were excellent. I really can't fault the place. It was worth every penny and I'd play it again without hesitation. If your looking for a good quality course and a challenge, this is it. Get yourself down there soon.

The course was very quiet the day we played. No one in front or behind which was nice. Good range of holes lots of bunkers. Course looked a little tired and fairways a little long and weedy in places. That said really enjoyed playing this course and would definitely play again.

The greens and tees all need some work to bring them up to standard.

The greens were in a bad way, bald patches on all. Really need to reduce prices when like this.
