booked for 8am Tee, perhaps being a week day and slightly early was the reason whay we only saw two other people whilst on the course, therefore no hold ups and completed the round in 3 hours.
Course was in great condition throughout, would recommend this course.
Lovely course
I play the Three Locks regularly. The first 6 are up and down a large hill, generally nice and wide so fairly forgiving, with a couple of fun holes involving long pitches over a pool or off a cliff etc (the 2nd and 6th). Just as you start to huff a little from the hill walking youll find the 7th onwards is in flat and very handsome parkland, maintained very well. The fairways are typically quite wide and theres several dog legs, a stream and lakes through some of the holes meaning this can be both a forgiving course, or a tough one - depending on how ambitious you are. The views of the local hills are very pleasant. My only complaint is the the 18th is about a 150yd walk from the hole of the 17th, which can be a struggle not to skip it if your legs are spent. Other than that, theres some nice water fowl and rabbits around. Overall, well worth giving this course ago to see if it makes it onto your regular rotation. I write this review knowing it will make my life harder to get decent tee times, but whoever runs this course deserves a glowing review.
Great condition for time of year
Enjoyable round. Course and greens in particular were in really good condition and speed for the
Time of year and recent rain.
Temp tees were a poor effort just off main tee boxes in the rough/fairway but ignored them if they were unusable.
Decent challenge of golf with varied hole layouts.. will continue to prefer this course over other local venues that are boring in comparison.
Good value too.
Good overall experience
The course is interesting and has various hazards to keep you on your toes.
Greens were fantastic - better than many I played in the summer
Friendly regulars too.
Nice course, with some challenging holes
We enjoyed our round and found it more challenging than expected. The course was in very good condition and the greens were excellent.
Only slight negative is the absence of a pro shop!
Used to be a friendly good value course
Trolley ban because of all the rain.
Course ok but it has lost its friendliness and character.
Went into tne club house for a drink after playing they got our drinks then brought the mop bucket out obviously dont want the club house to be used
Enjoyable round
Played here many times before and always enjoy it. We played our first round of the season here, the course was in good condition generally but considering the recent weather it was a bit boggy in places. Greens were very good for early Feb.
Pace of play was fairly slow going due to a number of society groups in front of us - a usual 3 hour round took 4 hours, waiting on every tee box in 2 degree temperatures didn't do much for morale !
That aside we did enjoy it and will definitely be back for more In the spring summer and autumn !
I know this has been said a lot on here but PLEASE put some ball washers by the tee boxes, for such a small thing it really lets the course down.
3 locks
I have played this course 40-50 times and have never been told no trollies on the day. the course is tiring at the best of times but having to carry made it even worse. The course was fairly dry so no idea why no trollies.
Love this course and would become a member if it had a driving range.
Great Course for a round
We had a very nice day at the Three Locks and would recommend the Course to all levels of player.
Nice course
Tough 1st 6 holes as very hilly but very good fun, flattens from 7th tee, good mix of short and long dog legs
Another great round at 3 locks
Lovely course , interesting and challenging holes .
Keeps you thinking all the way round.
Free American Golf Round so took a friend and shared his green fee
Friendly welcome in Pro Shop. Course was in decent condition although bunkers had not been worked since recent heavy rains last week.
Greens fairly true but haven't yet speeded up.
Layout is fun with a great variety of holes with plenty of doglegs and water on back 9!!
All in all we both enjoyed ourselves even though we caught up with a very slow Society. Joined up for 2 holes with another pair in front of us.
Well worth a visit
Really enjoyable round
Agree with some other comments, 1st 6 holes very hilly but certainly the effort. The 1st par 3, 80 yards goes to show that you don't need lots of bunkers and long distance to make a hole exciting. Each hole was slightly different lots of doglegs and some really good thinking holes where position is more important than distance. Only criticism was lack of signs for next tee, 1st time playing and would have got lost afew times if we didn't keep up with the 2 ball in front.
