Greens not great condition but otherwise fine
Its a nice layout, perhaps a little dicey with tee boxes so close to greens with no protection. The greens are small which works well as a challenge for a fairly open course. Unfortunately the greens werent in good condition but the rest of the course is. Very busy as only opened again that week and it was bank holiday.
Lovely course, weird layout
Very nice course, interesting holes and lovely scenery! Make sure you pick up a score card, even with that it can be difficult to find the next tee, you sometimes have to walk 100-150 yards to it and it's not very obvious.
AVOID AT ALL COST - nasty place and nasty people
A truly shocking experience. Waterlogged course and was told it was a little muddy! It was nothing short of a bog pit. Shoes would completely sink down to cover them in a majority of the course fairways and between holes. Greens were in bad conditions and nearly hit by golf balls twice. Saw 2 lots of 6 balls on the course holding up play. Then when we complained were told that there is no refund and ‘we said it was muddy’. Extremely rude people and a truly shocking place. Walked off after 9. AVIOID!
Dangerous bog!!!
Poor layout dangerous in many areas and greens shocking !!
Course condition
The course was in an appalling condition, unfortunately it was a very foggy day, visibility was reduced to less than 50yards.
The golf course was very mushy, it was totally unplayable, the greens and bunkers fairways were waterlogged..
In my opinion, the course should’ve been shot down. I only manage to play 2 hole and discontinued the game.
Avoid at all costs
Cold but beautiful sunny day for time of year. (December) course should not have opened after second lockdown. After two heavy rain days this course was unplayable, waterlogged, very muddy, greens like a ploughed field. Need a hard hat in case of getting hit in middle of fairway from tees that are scattered around and very hard to find. Not enjoyable at all walked of after four holes.
Condition of this course was the worst i have ever played on or seen
This course was unplayable, fairways were waterlogged, greens had tyre tracks running through them. We walked off after 3 holes and asked for refund which was refused. Would rather not play golf than visit this course again
Not great
I played well here... but the course was in awful condition!
60%+ was ankle high mud! And the greens were hollow-tined far too late in the year!
Absolute shocker.
Good value.
With so much rain the course was very wet. That’s expected. Lots of worms and mud on the greens as a result of the rain too. Tee boxes were a bit muddy and sometimes hard to find a suitable spot to tee up.
The course is confusing. I use Hole19 so was relying heavily on that to direct us around. Some blind tee shots have ‘links’ style aiming posts but some dont. The next time we play there I think we will be fine.
There are some really interesting holes, albeit some short par 4s. Definitely enough to keep you interested. Playing a course first time I think you do tend to play the yardages first and that got me into trouble a fair bit. Next time out I’d be a lot more reserved off the tee And leave driver for the handful of times you really need it.
Bunkers unplayable (mixture of poor sand and rain).
Greens ok. (Hard to be too critical given the weather)
Fairways sometimes hard to define but overall ok.
Tee boxes wet and sometimes squelchy under foot.
Overall I would rate this course well. Value for money is brilliant. We paid £11 on a ‘Hot deal’ and had very low expectations going in. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely return once (if) the weather drys up.
Avoid
Got given broken buggy’s
Over changed £5 each on our four ball
Due to lack of signage, easily got lost between tees
Putting greens are like putting on a cobbled street, such bad maintenance
Sand in the bunkers seemed like they were from Travis Perkins builders sand
If you want to get lost and have a awful experience then this is the course for you.
If your looking for a decent round of golf, please go anywhere but here.
Crazy set out
A ridiculous set up with tees crossing everywhere, actually the most dangerous course I’ve ever played, poor practice facilities and very very slow due to tightness of course, avoid playing here at all costs, sorry for this tough revue but was a farcical day
Very enjoyable
The state of the course was very good. The only criticism is that the layout was confusing - I have never used the scorecard as a map before.
Tilsworthy
Fairways good greens fast but true,
Very enjoyable
Good yet not good
Some interesting holes and conditions of the greens were nice although very small greens, bunkers are flat and unimaginative. The course lay out seemed crazy, I got lost about four times and almost drove down the wrong way, on busy days you have to be very mindful of tee’s very close to your own. Was nice to play a new course but it won’t be a regular venture.
Overall Good Day @ The Office
Every nice and friendly Staff. Good range of Distance & Difficulty over the 18 holes. Small Greens and thin Fairways, with a little inconsistent putting pace. But a very nice course.
Great value fun course
Very good value for money and some very interesting holes. Overall would recommend and never seen it to busy so good for beginners to learn as well.
Interesting layout
Several novel holes, so a good test. Some of the reviews here are a bit harsh... i agree the course and facilities are pretty tired in places, but the course itself is quite interesting, hilly and some amazing views over the Chilterns. Admittedly the greens are a bit patchy in places, but didnt give me any problems personally. The bunkers I saw were all pretty standard, one of the reviews below is catastrophising. I probably wouldnt pay £25 to play here, as theres other courses at that price around... but at £15-20 you're in the right ball park if your focus is on the golf, rather than the 'newness' of everything. I actually found the members to be exceptionally friendly and helpful, I had several nice chats and guidance etc. The signs to the next hole arent fool proof, so you need to consult the map on the score card, and there are one or two longer than usual walks to the next hole, but I just enjoyed the countryside, exercise and mature trees... its a nice looking course with some interesting holes. I will play here again.
