Towneley Golf Club

Played a couple of times now and enjoyed, only complaint was a that the layout isn’t clear when using the winter tees and we missed a 3 holes due to getting confused, couple of signs wouldn’t go a miss. However the course was good even after the poor weather and wouldn’t hesitate to play again .

A real treat course, staff very friendly and helpful, course is good great condition, if it was closer to my home I would make it my home club, will be going back very soon 👍

1st time played for circa 8 years, nice informal round of golf. Other golfers not repairing divots and pitch marks was the only problem

Booked to play for a friends birthday at 12pm. Arrived to be told the course had been closed at 9am because of the weather. Didn’t even get an apology. 2 hour car journey!

Just moved to the area and have played every course within a ten mile radius. Townley is right up there, it's a quality course in fantastic condition with fairly fast greens and beautiful lush fairways. It's got its hazards but they're subtle which makes for a lovely round of golf. I was so impressed I've signed up for the yearly season ticket.

Excellent course the greens were in perfect condition,
Big wide fairways with some danger if your wayward of the tees,some water hazards that are nicely placed to catch you,will definitely be playing this course again

Play here regular, always good to play, the course is getting better and better the only niggle and it is only a niggle, is that some groups don't allow you through. Which can make for a very long round. There are plenty of opportunities to allow quicker players/groups though but "some groups" just don't. Only thing that let's it down

Well maintained, fairly flat municipal course. Well-suited to beginners/high handicappers. Great panoramic view of holes 1, 9, 10 and 18 from the car park. There is a decent putting green and nets to warm up/practice. Good value for a municipal course.

I'm new to golf and found this course really nice to play. You won't be punished too much from the odd duff shot.

while since I last played here, course was in very good condition and it was good to see the green keeping team working on the course making changes to some of the holes.

it certainly disguises the fact that this is a municipal course and stands up to many private courses in the area in terms of course condition.
After my round I popped into the bistro located above the pro shop, the food was excellent and very good value,

I was on my own seen a old chap asked if he wanted to play he was on his own 3 guys jumped in front smoking weed tracksuites on we was right behind them ask if we could play past them got the look of death they was practicing on the tea box taking huge chucked out of the ground I don’t do reviews much but had to do this they don’t seem bothered as they get the money townley shame

Enjoyed the round, great course and well maintained, the greens were excellant as were the fairways nice and firm, especially considering all the rain that fell on the days prior to my round.

Well done Towneley keep it up, I'll be back
