Nice course on the banks of the river Tyne.
We played this course yesterday for the first time time and enjoyed it.
It is a very tight course and you have to hit the fairways or trouble lurks each side all in all a nice course at reasonable price.
Debris
For the price it was a canny round , but the amount of branches and the twigs didn't help , but not bad overall.
Amazing course for beginners and returners to golf
Such a welcoming and relaxed environment for people looking to get out on the course, or for those looking to return to the game. Beautiful setting on the banks of the River Tyne. Clubhouse and members friendly.
Can't go wrong
Really nice little 10 hole course along the riverside. Don't expect Augusta, but for the green fees it's more than value for money. Only complaint is the ignorant dog walkers who think it's their playground.
After your round there is Cafe Enna in the Clubhouse for a bite to eat or just a coffee. Obviously a bar if you fancy a pint.
Great Course but not as well kept as previous years
Really enjoy playing Tynedale and have played many times. Usually the course is immaculate and because of the low price it was always great value for money but this today the course condition wasn’t as good as it was last year.
The fairways need cut down a little lower to clear the budding flowers. There are way more patches marked for repair then I’ve ever seen, the greens need a good watering and are littered with petals and leaves.
Don’t get me wrong we will play again for sure and would still recommend the course for the price but it’s like the greenskeeper has either been laid off or is on holiday and it wouldn’t take much to bring the course back to where it was in previous years!
Surprisingly good!
Most people seem to have a few bad things to say about Tynedale, I expected next to nothing arriving but thought “for £10, what’s the harm”. The course was in immaculate condition for what I feared would be terrible. Absolutely worth a visit and actually a challenging course as it’s very tight. Only let down was the bunkers were either very soft or rock solid.
Could not find the course
Unfortunately we could not find the course and when we googled it, it says it’s only open at 11am when I booked tee time for 10:20am. We could not get in touch with the clubhouse too so we’ve just wasted money.
Lovely Little Course
Smashing little course in a beautiful part of the country. It's essentially in the middle of a park route so lots of folks with dogs wandering across the course at times but no problems. There was also a run on when we were there so about 500 people running around the outskirts of the holes being placed. Again this was fine but I was a bit worried of a wayward shot wiping people out. Thankfully I managed to shank my shots the opposite way to where the runners were. We played as a 4 ball and all enjoyed it, to the point where before we left we booked up again for the following weekend.
nice course
this was a nice course , other players were friendly but spoilt by members of the public sitting on the green and wandering around the course
Gem of a Course
Tynedale Golf Course is a real gem of a course. Exceptionally good layout with double tee boxes to accommodate 18 holes. The overall condition of the course was good with fairways and greens well maintained. Offers exceptionally good value golf in a convenient ans scenic location on the outskirts of Hexham, next to the River Tyne. Worthy of a visit.
Good course for beginners
I have only been playing golf a few weeks now and would say Tynedale is good course as start up until you get better and can try bigger courses
Strange
Course is cheap to play and it's clear why that is.
It was not in great condition, but I wouldn't complain about that given the price.
What worried me was that it has been squeezed into a space that is not really big enough. Public footpaths down each side with people crossing at will from one side to the other while their dogs chased sticks or balls as you are about to play your shots. Other golfers would be approaching down shared fairways as well, all gave the impression of accidents waiting to happen. I'm surprised they do not have more incidents.
Practice course
Cheap and cheerful course, nothing too difficult, majority of the holes are straight with a couple hazards. But the holes are narrow and plenty trees and rough, good for those starting out and wanting a cheap practice round.
