A fine course still suffering a bit from 2018 drought

I like this club and the course, and try to play here whenever I am in the area. All the essentials are unchanged from my previous experience but 4 fairways are still operating under "preferred lies" because of the unrepaired damage from last year's drought. As we are now in mid-summer I expect fixing this issue will have to wait until the winter. Still worth a visit.

Let down

Disappointed to turn up to be told the back 9 was closed and half the holes were on temporary greens, clubs fault or golf now? Lack of communication.

Pretty dry despite recent rain

This is my third time here this year and I have grown to like this course a lot. The first 6 holes are relatively flat and amongst trees. From 7 to 15 are are up and down,, 9 to 14 actually on the downs. 16 to 18 are back to the trees. So a lot of variety and quite challenging in the wind. Course is well-drained and is still playing as in the summer with plenty of run-on.

Slightly quirky but enjoyable

First few holes are straightforward but it gets trickier from 7 onwards. Also a bit of criss-crossing at the start. Once on the Downs the scenery is excellent and the golf is more challenging. Course is still recovering from the dry spell. Brown grass predominates but now a bit damp underfoot.

Excellent condition course and superb value for money

We played Wareham after heavy rain but despite this the course was in excellent condition. The condition of the greens was superb. It is always an enjoyable round which starts comfortably before becoming challenging with good straight drives needed to hit some tight fairways and avoid the many trees. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit here.

A Good Course and worth a the visit

I enjoyed my time at Wareham. It is good course and the greens are in excellent condition! Just occasionally I found the the tee layout a little less than helpful. But considering the time of the year I thought the course was in good nick and a fair range of difficulty but with forgiving fairways. I thought the course would have benefited from one more par 5 hole. I will play it again.
