Great course
Nice course, some nice holes and couldn't fault anything.
Only played twice but will definitely be back
A great challenge
First time playing this course. It was in very good condition and a great challenge. Amenities were excellent particularly the bacon sandwiches at the half way house. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Pace of play was a bit slow but that certainly would not put me off returning
Hidden Gem
Lovely course running around Waterton Hall. Pretty underlying and some long walks. Lovely course. Greens a little bumpey and hard but definately worth a visit
Quality course and great staff
Always welcoming staff and bend over backwards to help. Course in brilliant condition
Lovely course
Great course, we wee just a little unlucky with the greens as they were very sandy but it has to be done. I’m sure the greens are top condition generally as is the rest of the course. Will be putting my name down on the waiting list very soon!
Watertown Park
Despite the recent bad weather all the greens were in play save the eighth and we’re in good condition.
Play Watertown quite regularly and always enjoy the course 2nd hole par three is a cracker
Winter golf
The course is well maintained during winter months.
Hedgehog spikes only and hole 8 was closed.
Hole 3 was shortened to a par 3 instead of a 5.
Still playing off winter tee’s at the moment.
Cafe half way round.
Picturesque place with some challenging holes
Betty did a great bacon and sausage sandwich at the halfway house. I went level par after I ate it. Went back for seconds after I finished my round. Greens decent too.
A Hidden Gem
Have lived within 30 minutes of Wakefield for 20 years and never been to the course. It’s absolutely fantastic. It stood head and shoulders above all other courses I have played since the weather got Wintery. Greens were fantastic. Lots of signature holes.. it’s a hilly course so it’s tiring to play but the halfway house does a cracking bacon butty to help you along
Brilliant course
Absolutely stunning course with a very very warm welcome form the pro
Can’t wait to go again
A fair challenge in peaceful, friendly surroundings
While most par 4s are not overly long for an intermediate and ageing golfer, such as myself,, accuracy is key with many sloping fairway. The course is well designed so each hole has a separate identity and seclusion.
Welcoming halfway house for a bacon sandwich/coffee (also close to 1st tee if you prefer) and friendly staff throughout.
You may need to take/purchase rubber tees for the driving range, but great idea to offer small 25 ball tokens (ideal for warming up before a round)
Will be booking again very soon even though it's over an hour away from where I live
Great Course Layout
Waterton Park Golf Course
Has to the best course in the area
Terrific Layout, in Great condition
And the green fee was very reasonable
The staff,, especially the bar staff were fantastic
Pace of play
Don't play Tues and weds cos it's comp and seniors day and they take a age to play and won't let you play thru no matter how many holes are free in front of them . When I questioned a 4 ball about this I was told to F--k Off and threatened.

Cracking course
Played the course based on the many positive reviews and can only recommend it. Both the course and set up is top notch. The pro in the shop was great fun and readily explained a bit about the course and its navigation. The course itself was in excellent condition save for a few tee boxes which were a bit bare but were all level. The fairways were immaculate and sat the ball up perfectly and the greens were very good with a bit of stop. The course is massive with many long walks from green to tee, and its a course where you need some length off the tee and you need to be relatively straight. There are loads of elevation changes and different angles so its not a grip it and rip it course. The background to the Park and how the course has been integrated in it only adds to a course which I believe is how golf should be played. Highly recommend giving it a go.
