Slowest every round
I’m sorry to say but this was the slowest round I’ve ever had and the first time I’ve ever walked off the course because there was no chance of ever finishing the round in daylight. I thought the professionals were slow with the 5 hour rounds but this would have been a 6+hour round if we ever got there, which we didn’t.
There was not no sign of a Marshall and at one point we have 5 groups waiting to play a par three where it had backed up so far.
Don’t think we’ll be doing it again.
Nice course
Nice course with gentle slopes, fairways and tees in good condition, pity about the greens appears that a lot of players don't repair pitch marks. Putts bobbly.
Too many people
Great course but massively over booked. Only got to the 3rd hole and had to walk off as it was just far to busy.
Mind the ditches, pick the right club
1st time here and received a warm welcome.
Struggled to navigate each hole, having not played the course before, but would know better 2nd time around.
Very disappointed to have 2 single players playing ahead and having to wait on every tee for the front 9!
A single player having a front 9 course lesson in front, kept stopping for a chat and video review!
The single player in front of him, was just painfully slow and he was playing off whites!
Our 2 ball front 9 took just over 2 hours!
With lesson in front stopping after 9, our 2nd 9 was a bit quicker, but we did wait on a few tees for the other single player.
All in a all a good course, using the space well.
With limited trees, the occasional wayward shot had a chance of recovery.
Greens were all of equal pace, if a bit slow.
Would play again, but in no rush to do so.
Good greens. A little boggy
Played here once before in the summer so I didn't know what really to expect in the winter. The greens were in pretty good condition after a fair amount of rain. The tee boxes and fairways had not been cut for a while and it was pretty boggy around a lot of the course. I'd say its in fairly good shape for this time of year overall. A fairly easy for with a straight forward layout on the front 9. Pace of play unfortunately was shocking. We were waiting on the tee box every hole, following a 2 ball who was held up by a group in front that refused to let them through.
Not worth a further visit
Greens in poor condition. Grass too long and many were diseased. Bunkers not been raked since animals had ventured into them. Ditches that ran across on many holes that just were annoying and added nothing to the challenge. Back 9 way too short and easy and I’m not even that good. Cheap round but still better value elsewhere. Friendly staff though.
Decent condition watch out for the awful golfer
Played today 3 ball in 3 hours 40, got let through by a two ball in a buggie. Course was in pretty good condition, good value.
Beautiful setting
Great day out, had lunch (food not great but ok) then 18 hole golf, lovely course, greens not quite up to scratch but overall really enjoyed the course especially as the sun was out which makes all the difference.
Only played the front 9
Not very challenging was the jist of it really,
I've not played for over 2 years yet went round with a +6 losing one ball in the process. I used to play off 11 so was expecting a worse score than that.
The 9th (and18th) is a great hole, a good drive sets you up to carry the water and go for the green, which could end in a splash of you don't judge it right
Other than that no real danger unless you pull your tee shot on the 7th (as I did and lost a ball), yes there are drains running across the fairways but think about your next shot leads you to effectively take them out of play all together.
Would I recommend the course, Yes because it's an easy round (I am assuming the back 9 is more of the same) and at least two of the holes can be memorable.
Not very interesting layout
This course has too many paralle wide fairways with cross ditches. The only defense is length. The conditions were also quite muddy. There were long par 3's that were quite challenging. The greens were receptive and putted quite true. After playing I could only bring to mind a few holes worth remembering.
Never fails to offer a great day out
All round great day of golf.... price course greens etc
Played this course for the first time and was very impressed, course was in great condition, wasn't held up by anyone, greens very well maintained as was the fairways and bunkers, some challenging holes aswell as some wide open fairways, 100% value for money, will definitely visit again soon.
Slow slow slow - and muddy
You know it isn’t going to be a good game when you have a 5 ball of the slowest mature guys in front and an even slower 3 ball in front of them. After 4 holes and an hour later, and some minutes later, I went home.
Great Course
A vert nice course, for the time of year excellent condition. With so many fallen leaves it is easy to lose balls so make sure you have plenty. Staff very friendly 100% would recommend the course and facilities.
Great Value
What a lovely surprise. Can't get a better deal than this. Very well presented course. I was worried at first given the price but worth £20 - £25 easily. Top staff in clubhouse.
Stuck behind some lady members which made it slow so played 1st 9 again...
