A Pleasant Surprise

Normally £35 for a round on a weekend so to get this for £13 was a real bargain.
A great tight challenge which was played at a leisurely pace with time to enjoy the character of the course.
The club house was very nice too with the staff welcoming and very friendly.
Looking forward to going back again

Lovely course, but always let down by the same issue.

Let me start by saying, that Wells is one of my favourite courses in the area to play.
The layout is excellent and the condition of the course is generally V good. However by far the biggest issue this course suffers from, is the pace of play and the unwillingness of members and non members alike, to abide by etiquette and allow faster groups through, or even when looking for lost balls. I have played this course more than 20 times in the last 6 months (always 2-4 ball) yet only once have I had a round not held up by slow play in front.
Constant apologies from the pro shop are simply not enough and more should be done to address this, as it really does let down what is without doubt, one of the best courses in the area.

A little gem in Somerset

Played at midday. No waiting on any of the tees.
Course (especially greens) in excellent condition considering the time of year.
This is not a boring course - try it.

Cracking course

Really enjoyed our day today. Pace of play was an issue with a group in front of the group before us playing slow, but never more than 4 mins or so on the tee. Course is interesting to play, v challenging in areas and forgiving in others.

Driving range is rather shabby - even snapped a plastic tee (sorry) and then the bay moved to had a tee that buckled under the weight of a ball and the carpet was not fixed to the bay - but cheap balls so you can accept this.
