Excellent Autumn Golf

Perfect benign conditions and great course for some Autumn golf. The greens were in superb condition and the price was very acceptable - definitely one to play again.

Not enough links but superb greens

For £30 a round online Weston is superb value if you want a trip to the sea to play a sort of-links course. Sort of, because most of the holes turn inland away from the sea, with several running parallel to each other (so quite a few shouts of fore or waiting while others tee off on a nearby tee). Alister McKenzie must have wished he had slightly more land to work with when he designed it. When you cross the road after the 4th you are briefly beside the sandy beach, and it feels like you are about to go out on a loop by the ocean, but then disappointingly you only play 2 holes out there before coming back again. But these are minor quibbles. The beautiful, fast and undulating greens were championship standard, and there are some lovely holes. It's by no means the longest, so very enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. Very friendly and unstuffy welcome, with nice tables outside the clubhouse overlooking the 10th hole. Overall highly recommended for a brief day trip out from Bristol or further afield.

Awful members

I’ve played this course before and always enjoyed its layout. This time nothing changed except being stuck behind a society and then aggressively verbally attacked and screamed at by a member. I’ll spare the details. We were living with the fact our round was going to be pushing 5 hours, but the arrogance, stupidity and moronic disposition of a member in a pink shirt and possessing the biggest short men syndrome I’ve ever seen has left myself and playing partner feeling like we will likely never return. The whole round was like something out of a movie. Great value at the time for 30 quid even with the slowest society in the world. Just avoid that particular member, lest he scream at you from 275 yards.

Recommended but don't trust your Tee time.

Love the course, played many times. In good condition for winter. Recommended. Disappointing to have our Tee time bumped back half an hour with out any notification from either party.
