Slowest game ever
I know it’s a temporary course at the moment but it’s terribly layed out. Took 5 hrs to complete our round for a 4420yard course, was soggy underfoot on most the fairways. Hopefully the new course will be amazing. Won’t be back until new course is finished if not silly money
A course for all abilities
Wexham is a good course, to test your ability to negotiate around. In the near future there will be an updated layout, which will make this popular course. Even more inviting!
There's a mixture of long & shorter holes to practise all sorts of shots. There was a gap in front on our tee time, so the steward said, we were free to go straight away, which was nice.
Our group played an early tee time, so Unfortunately the range & Brassiere wasn't open. Missing a trick on this!!
Overall though, a good course, friendly staff & an enjoyable experience.
Ok coarse
I have played his coarse before and its OK but I have always found it to be boggy under foot, maybe due to weather but I think the drainage could be better.
They are building a new coarse so hopefully this may resolve some of the issues.
Always very busy so be prepared to wait at some of the Ts,
Club house and driving range have been renovated along with pro shop and are excellent.
Building site
Cannot believe still charging full price despite the course being a construction site currently.
Understand updating the course and making improvements but no mention of this when making a booking on golfnow.
Maintenance
I understand it is muddy due to weather and they are busy working on the new course section, but some effort could still be made maintaining the current course. Fairways were not cut, it was like playing out of the rough everywhere. Large sections of the greens were under repair or not up to scratch, bunkers did not have enough sand so the clubs grounded out.
Normally quite good,
My son and I booked to play here 22nd October and found that there was four of us on the tee double booked, there was a scramble tournament on in front of us it took an hour to play the first 3 holes, absolute disgrace, there is four of us that regularly play here not so sure now, we only got to play 12 holes in 3 hours.
Good temporary course
As title suggests a good temporary course, nothing special but good price and a little testing. No or 5s though
Shocking
They had a kids competition which had no proper course lay out just jumping between holes. We managed to skip past then held up by a one ball waiting for a friend to meet him. In the end we went across the road to the green course because the pace of play on the blue was ridiculous 1hr 15 to play 4 holes and we were a 2 ball
Overpriced for what you get
Whilst the course is under construction the layout is extremely short
In my opinion the green fee is too large
Saying that the greens are fabulous but the tee boxes and fairways could use some attention.
Clubhouse facilities are also good.
Temporary holes
This course is in transition and you can see the huge earthworks underway partly on some of the original holes. Hopefully it will be the course the members deserve one it is complete. As it stands it feels more like a 9 hole course with several small greens. I don’t like the new temporary holes 2& 3 at all and there are only a couple of holes where you can take the driver out now , so more of a practice course at the moment. Greens we’re in excellent condition however!
Very Good
the course is in very good condition even though there is work being carried out. the greens were perfect and the pace was very good. interesting teeing off on the 10th with a helicopter arriving so i had to move. overall a very good course that i will play again.
Wexham Blue Course
Short but fairly challenging, slow play unfortunately made this course less than enjoyable. Amenities were good and I'm sure the new course will be fantastic.
Excellent Value
Overall very good, especially in terms of value for money. Only issues are: 1, a handful of holes, which I assume are temporary during construction, which are not quality of the others, leading to very uneven speed of greens. and 2, eccentric layout of first 6 holes.
