Wexham Park Golf Centre - Blue Course

I havent played Wexham Park main course since Covid. I knew there were changes but I hadnt realised the course is half the size it was in area because the other half has been sold for housing. The old 4th, 5th, 16th, 17th and 18th are no longer and these were some of the best holes on the course as they were more heathland in character than the rest of the course which is basically a field. I will not be going back but Im sure someone has made some money.

Poor value for money, condition of first 7 holes should be mentioned and reflected in price of a round. Yardage on holes was wrong, and with no par 5’s it generally plays as a par 3 course. Disappointing.

excellent course when also the price paid for 4 was £47.96 or £ 11.99 each (4 players). Ample parking and the course is well maintained. Look to play again with family and or friends to improve golf.

I play this course because of the location; a mid point for my friend and I. We fully appreciate that the course is under-going refurbishment (how long is it going to take - seems to be ages?!) and so this means that there are a few temporary holes. My main issue with these are the dreadful greens.
The non-temporary holes are fine, however yesterday virtually all the tee boxes were covered with loads of top soil. Very strange and unhelpful.

For a golf course it was really poor. The hole layouts were really odd, many of the holes had 90° Doglegs where you have to hit the ball a specific yardage like from 140-160 otherwise you are out of bounds long or blocked out short. On tee shots there were many obstructing trees creating a tiny window from which to hit through and the playability of the holes were really bad with extremely tight fairways and thick rough so any shot off-line would immediately result in a lost ball. The greens rolled way to fast for the slope of most of the holes and many of the greens were on a raised plane so if you missed the green you had to chip uphill and pray the ball stayed on.

Course was in pretty good condition overall however there were a couple of tee boxes out of use for reasons I couldn't see and the temp locations were within the short rough just in front of them.

Stuck behind a women’s competition. 1 hour to finish two holes. Watched one of their group take 10 minutes looking for a lost ball. Tried to skip to the 7th hole to be told off by them for interrupting their competition. So we gave up. 30 quid for 3 holes.

The course condition is second to none. Even the temporary holes now the greens are excellent. The greens on the original holes are absolutely unbelievable so quick and true with their roll.

I think prices should all be dropped. It's not a full 18 really. No par 5s and pretty short. Everyone appreciates the struggles of the past year but it seems unfair charging full price for say 2 thirds of a golf course.

Playing at this course was such that one is playing on a construction site. There are no proper signs to guide you the next tee. Also there are no layout of the course anywhere to tell where is the hole or greens for that particular hole. Grass was cut at various places but we experienced a lot of rough all around the course. No ambience nor any peace to play your golf. The path laid down is also not trolley friendly. You can avoid this course for sure. Never coming back to this one in future.

The course is undergoing major redevelopment and as a result has a temporary layout with number of new/temporary greens. Original course greens played well and nice holes but temporary holes look exactly that. Green staff clearly doing their best in difficult circumstances

I can see the great changes forthcoming but not for at least couple of years at least. Always loved playing there but i won’t be returning till the re design of course is complete.

I fully understand that there is a means to an end with the major course reconstruction currently being performed.
However, I found that this has greatly depreciated the former attraction of this course.
Hard fast greens with no signs of being watered recently.
Unkept fairways (both original and temporary).
Unclear signage and would have liked to have seen hole maps on every hole showing the temporary hole layouts.
Not somewhere I’ll return to until all work on the course is complete.
At this moment in time there are better courses in the area to play.
